Our guide was Francis and he really tried to show us everything, of course a national park is not a zoo, and the animals just do what they feel like. We were very lucky and had a very good guide who drove us safely to the "hotspots". We never felt unsafe, a really great experience that also never lacked respect for the animals.
What belongs to the tour are local traders who of course try to bring their goods to the man, but this has nothing to do with the park or the guide, these are simply local customs with which one must know how to deal.

Jennifer communicated easily to arrange the safari before we arrived from the UK. Joseph was our driver and he was lovely we had an excellent 3 days with him. Very knowledgeable and safe driver. It was lovely to meet up with Jennifer and Stanley on our was back from the safari for a drink. Highly recommend using AMS we will definitely use them again. They communicated clearly what to expect, were punctual and attentive. We saw dolphins along the way. The two dives offered different experiences with fishes, dolphins underwater and other critters. What stood out was their experience esp Jatin
He guided well even with leisure divers all over the place - one was constantly attempting to surface when we were only at 10m due to sheer panic every 10 mins (not even sure how he got certified) another diver was going all directions except following us. Yet he kept them at check while guiding and showing stuff underwater. Not easy feat.
Tanks, regulators, bcds, masks fins were provided as part of package and well maintained. They knew exactly the no of weights for each diver.
Lunch was excellent - crabs, fish, roasted seaweed, seafood soup
I recommend staying in Shimoni as it’s much quieter, very few tourists and not having to travel hours back and forth was worth the while.

Natural World Safari is very professional.Our sales representative (Martha) from Natural World did everything she could to make our trip a memory for life. When you reserve, do insist for her services. She will make a difference! Our trip was well planed, the jeep was confortable our guide Julius was very knowledgeable and pleasant and our accommodations where to our expectations and even more! - TheSoloFemaleTravellerUnited Kingdom29 contributionsThis was one of the highlights of my trip to Kenya. The Wasini trip boat trip is a snorkelling/boat trip/dolphin extravaganza/lunch. To make matters even sweeter, unlimited soft and alcoholic drinks plus return transfers from your hotel front door.
Water is provided for the transfers, and you are taken straight onto the boat on arrival. When you get on the boat, you are offered soda, water and beer before taking off towards the islands. You then get in a few snorkelling sessions and explore for some dolphins before heading on-shore again for lunch and some incredible views. We also had the option to go to tour the Shimona slave caves, which was an extraordinary and humbling experience.
The itinerary itself is one that cannot be beat. However, what takes it over the edge are Jomo (Jay) and the incredible guys who run the whole operation. They are so helpful, attentive and willing to go out of their way to get you what you need. More, the amount of languages they speak is mind-blowing - they definitely put the Brits to shame. Their service is top notch.
For me, this was incredible. As a solo female traveller, they made sure I was okay throughout the trip, talked to me and educated me about where we were and Kenya in general. They were very knowledgeable, personable people. I felt 100 percent safe at all times - something very important for a lone woman.
I would recommend this trip for anyone who visits Kenya. It is an experience in the Indian Ocean that you will not forget. If you are not the best swimmer, that’s fine - they have life-jackets and other inflatables. At Haller Park, the crocs and hippos feeding show was at 4pm which was way later in the day than when we got there. But still and enjoyable visit. The rides at wild waters was very exciting and the kids had loads of fun. Our guide took care of us to the best of his availability I guess. He arranged our entries, water during the drive and lunch and drove us the long drive to the parks and back to our hotel.
I did however feel the price was quite steep, even factoring transport cost for the trip, it could have cost alot less. Th stop along the way (and back) was at your typical tourist trap but they offered terrible refreshments given the 4 hour journey from our hotel to the destination. The transport vehicle was also not that comfortable and was in need of a clean. What made me give a 4 was the animals. It made the journey so worthwhile and our driver who doubled up as the guide was extremely knowledgeable. The animals saved the day.

After picking us up at the hotel we went to the "wooden crafts" village. It was intriguing to see how those men create art from scratch. Amazing! Of course, I had to buy a few items :-) After visiting the art village, we continued to Fort Jesus and Eric the guide was an excellent storyteller. He described all the events which took place at Ford Jesus in detail. The tour at the old part of the town consisted out of a walk through narrow streets, also filled with art shops and a view of the harbor. We finished the tour with a walk through Haller Park (Bamburi Nature Trail). Overall It was an amazing day filled with laughter. Reuben is a great host and we look forward to experiencing some of the other tours he has to offer.
