It was an interesting place to see (especially after doing a subterranean tour elsewhere in the morning and having a bit of insight) with ancient wells and artifacts from WW2.
On the road to the cemetery we came across this place initially giving the impression of a tourist shop, but it proved to be far more than that, with a little fantasy it’s a cave of curiosities built from scratch...

Breathtaking Medieval frescoes, sculptures and a mini Parthenon inside
In the rotunda behind there are amazing frescos, gothic style, reminiscent of the quattrocento.

Having popped in to see the "skull with the ears", my friend and I were delighted to discover much more about the history of Chiesa di Santa Luciella and burial rituals in southern Italy.
We had a guided tour with Massimo who was very informative and obviously passionate about the work being done to renovate this landmark.

Beautiful church / museum with some fascinating objects but the real glory of this place is the second church accessed through the main church with the most stunning frescoes.
Very near the Duomo if you're in that area.

This is such an amazing place and definitely worth a visit.Once you get off at the metro follow the signs and prepare to be amazed!
It was a 20-minute walk, leading through some of the interesting, older neighborhoods of Naples (seriously, there are auto shops inside of deep tunnels that look like they are hundreds of years old).

The piece de resistance, though, is definitely the Chapel frescoed by Vasari: an intricate, quiet beauty, perfectly preseverd, truly a small Sistine Chapel!
Stunning frescoes by Vasari along with an array of beautiful artworks make it an absolute must see.
