- TualieVarese, Italy1,297 contributionsEasy to arrive by walking or parking nearby but if walking prepare for a long interesting walk through 400 meters long arcade with 142 arches built by the Capuchin friars in the XVII century, rebuilt/modified throughout the centuries. This is an old fish factory that specializes in marinated anchovies and smoked eel still operating but in a much reduced scale because fish nowadays is not abundant like in the old days. Cheap entrance ticket, can see the rooms where fish is processed, tools used and a old film that shows the old traditional process. The river girl (1955 film) was filmed here, reason why Ms. Loren image is omnipresent.Written May 17, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
