What travelers are saying
- ChiaraFlorence, Italy39 contributionsThere’s a place in the southeast of Sicily where you can see two seas meeting each other. This is the place!
The beach is clean and spacious, there’s also a bar/restaurant and some facilities. The car park is close to the beachWritten September 12, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Only qualm is that it's a little pricey but otherwise great.Written September 22, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mario DIsland of Gozo, Malta12 contributionsVisited the area near Capo Passero during our first scooter trip to Sicily. Portopalo is a quiet, nice place and the seafront area next to the island is very tranquil and offers nice views of the island surrounded by the deep blue sea.Written September 18, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Also although the beach aapears relatively clean there are no facilities for rubbish or for smokers which is a shame.
The roads are terrible and not very well signposted, if you have a small car you might worry about the state of the roads as they are rocky and sandy.
However it is a beautiful sandy beach ideal for families because the water doesn't go over hip height for at least 500m out from the shore.Written July 21, 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I've been twice to this beach in Portopalo di Capo Passero between 17 and 24 of September in 2018 and 2020 During this time there is a lot of seaweed but lmuch fewer people. Maybe 5 umbrellas. If you don't like seaweed in the water or on the beach, this is not the place for you. I grew up with seaweed in Barbados so I'm OK with it. The beach is sand mixed in with rocks not too much of a problem when you are swimming and not walking in the water. The wind can kick up quite a bit and there is the current that's a bit push and pull of the two seas meeting but you can safely swim here. Just take the usual open water precautions as there is no lifeguard. Highlight is Paolo with his granita made with real Sicilian Lemons. My Italian friend from the mainland say Sicilian lemons are the best.Written September 18, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - VCB_10Noto, Italy245 contributionsNothing I could see that was overly exciting, though interesting 'plaques' at the entrance, and memorial to Italian losses in the First World War on the side of the building. Interior is simply and light.Written February 12, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- WojciechPoznan, Poland5 contributionsI was on many islands and in even more beach bars but this one is first, and I hope last, which is charging 1 euro for one moment of using public shower... I can imagine bussines, I can understand high prices at the bar, 5 euro 2h parkinng, it is clients choice, pay it or not, we did. But a shower!?!? Its cheap. A now imagine beeing there in family of 5... We left money for parking, we left money for drinks and snacks, we left money for shower and we left cabana nabana for good...Written October 1, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
