The town hall puts on various activities which can be interesting. On Friday there is usually a charity coffee morning, well worth going to.

Good selection of books and good staff. They also offer DVDs which is nice. Definitely, worth going if you need a new book or a movie to watch.

This ornate clock is the centrepiece of this town. Not too high to be overpowering, it has been well looked after.

We found this by chance whilst out walking in the area so popped in for a drink and a look around. The barman was very friendly and helpful in telling us about what drinks were on offer. The beer was very good and we brought some bottles to take home. The only thing I would say is it don't look very open or welcoming from the outside but it is very much the opposite once you go in!

The home ground of Downham Town FC, this is a small football stadium hosting a non league side. The ground itself is little more than a park pitch, with around 4o wooden bench seats and a small covered standing area. Most people stand on the sideline, so wrap up well as you can be exposed to the elements. The turnstile is more of an honesty box than an entrance as there are so many ways to see the game without paying, but with prices at £5/3 including a programme, you would have to be pretty hard hearted to take advantage. The clubhouse is comfortable and the prices cheap, with £1 for coffee/tea. It's a long way from the premier league experience, but you get much closer to the action and have the satisfaction of supporting local grass roots community football.

4adults and 3 children (3-9 years), spent an excellent day at home farm. The farm buildings and paddocks are all well maintained and the animals well cared for. The children enjoyed meeting the small animals and the lambs. Loved getting into the piglet pen and the petting pens. All the staff were very friendly and patient. We bought a delicious lunch and the children had fun on the playground. Couldn’t fault it…. Unless you could provide someone to explain to a 3 year old in meltdown why he’s too small to go on the big tree house slide with his older siblings!!!
Thank you for a lovely day… also enjoyed seeing the raptors flying overhead.

What a hidden gem this garden is! We've lived an hour away for over thirty years and I don't know why we haven't visited before. We were looking for a day out in this area and saw it listed in the Gardener's World 2 for 1 offer gardens. It's mainly open on Wednesdays and a few Sundays.

It's a lovely garden with lots of different areas and good signage about both the garden and Stow Hall which was sadly demolished in the 1990s as it had fallen into disrepair.

We especially loved the orchard which had a huge number of apple, pear, cherry, mulberry, etc trees which were all labelled and of different varieties. We collected a few windfalls which were delicious.

We also loved the walled garden which has a number of areas which are cultivated as mini allotments by local community members.

There's an indoors kitchen area where you can make yourself a drink and have some cake. It's also got a lot of artwork by locals and members of the Hare family who have owned the Stow Estate since the 1500s.

By the entrance is an area where you can buy some of their plants and we got some great vegetables grown on the estate. Having discovered it we'll definitely be returning. The Hare Arms pub opposite the entrance is also highly recommended.

Superb hidden gem with detailed historic information for the town.
Greeted by 2 very helpful gentlemen. Given a laminated sheet to help us with all the information boards. Not the usual boring/can't wait to get out kind of place instead this place oozed detail and interesting facts making me want to read more. Lots of historical photos bringing the town to life.
A fantastic find. Thank you very much

What a day! Perfect boat for the four of us. Such fun trip into Ely and back. We took the sides of the back canopy off and watched the world go by. Stopped for a birthday picnic at Littleport. Great facilities for a day out (kettle, toilet, sink etc). Boat easy to drive and our Captain got great training on arrival. Would definitely do again.

Took a group of normally noisy scouts, and had the quietest hour for a long time, while they concentrated on painting their pots. Looking forward to seeing the results, once they are fired.

The lesson was excellent and fun. Just the right pace. Lovely bright craft cabin with huge windows overlooking the alpacas. Meeting the alpacas and learning about them was a real bonus!

I Had never heard of Nei Gong until recently..... Fabulous strengthening training for Tai Chi study.
Amazing teacher with huge amounts of experience, knowledge and patience. One had to get up at five am for a six o'clock start, but so worth it! Fantastic exercise names like Wild horse stamping it's feet and Rhinoceros gazing back at the moon and Hungry Eagle searching for food.....
Lovely setting and lashings of green tea.
James Wong the proprietor is a strong quiet man who seems to see everything even with his eyes closed!
