The different views you get every day are so amazing: forest, glaciers, snow capped mountains, lakes, rivers.. just stunning.
You'll also climb to the Torres on this route - this felt especially tough after 8 long days of hiking, but we caught the break in the weather and as hoped for, it was beautiful - wild, Patagonian, worth the massi...

The waterfall is a warm up, the short hike to the lake a teaser for the views you will see at the end-enough to make you burst into tears with the sheer beauty of the mountains
We took a long walk along the length of the beautiful and very large lake in the Torres del Paine National Park, towards the Cuernos (the 3 horns) part of the central massif.

On your way to the National Park you will see waterfalls, lots of penguin like birds, seal colony and Balmaceda glacier from the boat.
The glacier itself does not seem to be too massive from land, but it is as close as we can get to a glacier.

There are some parts of the trail where I wished I had running shoes in good weather, there are others where you need the ankle protection of boots even in good weather.
Self-guided hikers can cook their meals out of the rain and wind in a one-room cabin.
