There is a lot for adults to enjoy, as the stellar education staff (with some of the best social media of any museum, anywhere) makes learning fun for everyone.
Museums are open from 10-16, so if you can start at 10 at the Canning Museum, you can finish all these and maybe you save a little time for the "big museum", Museum of Stavanger.

There are many ways to explore the Viking history in and around Stavanger, from landscape to museum artifacts, and this VR approach is a fresh new experience found in the heart of Stavanger.
We arrived in the port of Stavanger having had a week's tour on The Queen Mary 2. After disembarking the shop we found the Viking Experience straight away, so location was perfect.

It contains cinemas, exhibits, a library, snack shop and restaurants (as well as free toilets on the lower levels).
It's a multi-level library, art gallery, cinema, cafe, pizzeria, kiosk... all in one.

An excellent small well designed modern museum with a nice cafe and a fantastic collection of pre historic material with many unique objects.
The gift shop has some brilliant artefacts for an old teacher like me who is always thinking of ways to bring history alive.
