- Sarah A15 contributionsNice beaches but hard to get there since you have to go through the jungle and it takes approx 30 minutes. Wouldn’t recommend this for older people. There are 2 small beaches actually and you can hike in 10 minutes from one to another. No walking shoes necessary for the hike - flip flops are ok.Written February 28, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Antje W76 contributionsThe walk to and the beach itself are both rewarding and beautiful. Compared to other beaches nearby Prainha is super clean and empty. Feels like being far away from everything.
The way to the beach can be found online if you want to go. But be careful while asking for directions on the way: Apparently guides lead people the wrong way on purpose, because they want to make money. Therefore, there are no signs and sometimes arrows on the ground.Written October 21, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sarah A15 contributionsThis place is stunning. It’s the most beautiful beach in Itacaré in my opinion. Not crowdy at all.. :-)Written February 28, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Anna27 contributionsWasn’t expecting to pay on arrival (only $17 reais pp) so was a little put off at first, there is a bit of a hill to walk down.. immediately I dreaded the climb back up, however I noticed benches intermittently placed along the way with adequate rubbish bins for litter (it was a very clean place). Once at the bottom of the hill we crossed a quaint bridge then came across a little orchards green house and souvenirs shop of equal size, there’s a restaurant there though we didn’t eat. Past the restaurant you see the waterfall! And how stunning it is. There’s a rope for easy access as well as to hang onto for relaxing in the water.. naturally the rocks can be slippery be careful! Though feel confident there is a life guard there, follow the stairs up the bank on the right hand side and there’s another pool of deep water, out of the life guards view but if you’re a competent swimmer it’s another beautiful spot. Over all this was a well maintain place, not over swam with tourists or locals, we visited twice in our week long stay around Itacaré.Written March 20, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jeff CItacare, BA8 contributionsA fantastic place to learn to surf. The trail to the beach takes approx 20 mins, which is apparently enough to discourage hundreds of people making their way to this beautiful secluded gem. I'm sure it will be busier in high season though.Written September 21, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jeff CItacare, BA8 contributionsThis is a small, beautiful, and often deserted beach especially during lockdown. A great place to get away from it all, read a book, do some exercise, and go for a paddle. I was advised very strongly not to go swimming there because the currents are apparently treacherous.Written September 21, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David1 contributionHow to get there: from the parking of Praia ribeira follow the small path on the right side of the river. Walk till you arrive at the bridge (from time to time you see the blue water pipe on the path. That's the proove that you are on the right way). If you arrive a the bridge have a look down. There is a small lake. Cross the stones on the left side of the lake. Thats the fastest path (from parking to the beach approx. 40 mins). Crossing the bridge is also possible, but the paths there are full of water and you will need round about 1h 30 min from the parking to the beach.Written February 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paula R M PrintzBonn, Germany17 contributionsOnce in the area, you must see the cacao farm and its processes. Vila Rosa is very small, but it provides the full experience. It was raining, and even tough the visit was so much fun. We could taste everything, and really understand how chocolate is made. Too bad they don't have english tours - I had to translate for our group.Written December 5, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - rohantah20 contributionsA wonderful place to watch the sunset where often people come to perform capoeira and other types of cultural arts. - Scott BWantagh, NY661 contributionsA great little waterfall with swimming holes both above and below the falls. The boat ride to it goes through dense mangrove trees with blue and red crabs all along the shoreline. We went after breakfast and enjoyed it with a few other families but in the afternoon there seemed to be more visitors coming as we were departing. The trails are not hard to walk but to the upper pond are more steep. Water shoes would be good due to the rocky bottom. There is a small store on site for food and drinks. Entry cost was 15 reais per person. Safe for kids and seniors.
For around $R75 per person you get a private boat ride to this waterfall from most beach hotels by flagging down one of the little tourist boats going by.Written January 15, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Sand is great but it is pretty busy, especially now that some of the other beaches have mud from the recent flooding and this one has remained clear. There are a few stands which sell drinks, and a handful of roaming vendors selling grilled cheese sticks, salted corn, and various other foods and snacks. Umbrellas and chairs are $R10 to rent.
Along the rocks there are various tidal pools where little fish, urchins, crabs and various other sea creatures live or get stuck. It is pretty at sunset too with the sun going down over the hills behind, and probably equally beautiful in the morning.Written January 13, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
