- Laura RGuttenberg, NJ325 contributionsThe tomb is beautifully done, with a small museum. The plaza is all marble. It is an experience. The museum shows his life and what has been happening. It is worth the trip.Written July 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Daniel LApex, NC791 contributionsMuseum does a great job in laying out the history of the PLO and Palestinian cause, displaying a lot of events with accompanying evidence regarding past Israeli transgressions and the international relationship with Yasser Arafat. From an observer standpoint obviously they will have their own biases throughout, but very worth to see the perspective.
Additionally it was very cool to be able to see the bunker in which he hid in during the encirclement of this compound by Israeli forces.Written December 4, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Sharon Lynchnyc19 contributionsIntimate Terrains is a masterfully curated exhibition of powerful, professionally executed, and exceptionally expressive work that reveals more of the Palestinian story and culture than any newspaper story or textbook will ever convey. The trauma, indignation, pride, and fury of an occupied, oppressed, and abused population is palpable. In the light-filled, intimate galleries, it was personal and powerful. I hope it is possible for the Museum to tour the show; it needs to be experienced by a wide audience. Most of the western world only hears one side of the story.
The Museum itself is impressive - a contemporary LEED building that integrates seamlessly with the terraced hillsides of of the area. We arrived late in the day and unfortunately just barely had time to view the exhibition and left without touring the entire building and surrounding gardens. I will make a point of returning and spending time exploring the grounds, other programs, and the adjacent university.Written September 1, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - FadiHaddadNazareth, Israel125 contributionsThe church dates back to 6th century. It was destroyed several times through history.
You may see small parts of old mosaics on the floor.
Located on hill over looking Jordan - in clear visible day.Written September 20, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This is one of two main squares (traffic circles) in Ramallah, the other is Lion' Square. The Yasser Arafat Square is a very busy place with traffic moving around it.
A water feature stands at the bottom of the monument and a flag pole with a flag of Palestine is at the top . Half way up the flagpole is a young lad climbing up toward the flag which, we were told, symbolizes the Palestinian struggle for freedom and nationhood.
Seeing the Yasser Arafat Square is an interesting experience.Written May 18, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
