Was a fun hike up to the fort (and back down!) admiring the beautiful gardens along the way. The fort itself is also fascinating and I wish we'd had a little more time to spend there! Views to die for as well!

We needed a safe place to anchor close to Hvar in the peak of high season. We ended up in the cove across from the Carpe Diem beach club. The cove was beautiful, and not too crowded with boats or traffic, but it was very noisy because of the club so close.

The beach is beautiful, but the way to get there is difficult if you take the shortcut, it is going down through a path of rocks, kinda steep, it was a bit terrifying for me. Make sure to be with good shoes, not flip flops. And it was pretty full, compared to Mekicevica beach which is just 20 minutes away. However there were restaurants and shops in Pokonji Dol, which on the other hand are not available on Mekicevica.

My husband and I took a day trip here from Hvar. Taxi boats are available at the port in the old town and it takes about 15 minutes to travel across. There are a nice selection of restaurants once across with a lovely relaxed chilled vibe. The beach is rocky but does have sunbeds to rent. We had a wonderful, relaxing day here.

Jerolim is known nude beach. I went there, I could see nude beach. But Nude Beach doesn't really care. It was a calm and quiet place. On the other side, there is a small beach, which you don’t need to be nude. You can swim or enjoy the beach without feeling people's eyes.

We had a lovely drink of craft ale with a tiny sea view . Felt the place needed their doors open and so passers by could see inside and all guests could see the sea . They are missing a trick as it was empty until we arrived it was a great place and a shame none was drinking their beer

Beautiful and busy harbour. We only spent a few hours here so not enough to see all around the harbour, let alone the island, but it was a nice area with shaded bits to escape the heat and bustle

We visited this place for its restaurant, which is excellent but that’s for another review.

De city of Malo Grablje is completely abandoned around 1960, apparently due to a disease that destroyed the olives / wine yards.

The city is left as is and is slowly being taken apart my nature, so be careful if you decide to enter one of the houses.

It’s a really beautiful place to walk around. We might go back for some of the hiking trails that start there.

There is an hotel/apartment place build at the edge of the village, so for how long this place stays abandoned is the question.

At the end of the harbour area this is well worth a visit even if you just see it from the outside. Very intersting buliding and area.

This beach is about 20 minute away on foot from Pokonji Dol beach through a rocky path but most of it is flat so it was not a huge problem however good shoes are adviced. The beach is less crowded but also smaller so if a lot of people get the same idea to go there, it can become a problem. There is no restaurant or bar or sunbeds so you have to bring your own stuff. The water was of a beautiful color. Some comments here mentioned nudists and voyeurs but I did not see any of this when I was there. Just families and clothes people, no problems.

Visit this cathedral, and see the main square around it. This is the center of Hvar. You can see Arsenal, Historic Theater, hotel Palace Elizabeth, marina, bust of Kovacevich (inventor of dactyloscopy) with a giant fingerprint on front of it, and many more.

Such history at this old castle, still occupied by ancestors of its original owner. Not a lot to see, but great for pictures by the pond and in the garden and enjoy the history and poetic ambiance. Took less than 20 minutes to walk around.

Worth the twenty minute hike up and back to see the amazing views! The fort’s history is pretty cool and worth a stop off. There is an amazing cactus garden on the path too.

We visited this family winery while on a day stop in Hvar as part of our Unforgettable Croatia yacht cruise down the Dalmatian coast. The visit was well organised in a large tasting room accommodating our whole group of around 36 people. We tasted four wines and servings were generous. Meats cheeses and bread were also provided. The cellar door was about 30 minutes on the bus from the Hvar port. Staff were friendly and efficient. Wines were good too 😊

We walked from Starigrad to the centre of the world heritage, the omphalos. Here you can rest in the shade and have some water. The plains have been farmed for about 2.300 years according to the system instituted by Greek settlers. The crops are much the same, mainly olives and grapes. We had a great time on this ca 4 km walk.
