Our family was blown away by the experience here. We went to the Casa Tortuga cenote before and it was nice, but super crowded and a tourist trap. This place is off the main road with a more exclusive feel. Both cost around the same, $36 per person. We purchased our package from the kiosk in the Tulum parking lot. There are so many cenote options to visit. This has to be a top choice. You go on a walking cave tour thru 600 meters of gorgeous cave formations , complete with stalactites , stalagmites, and even tree roots creeping down from the cave ceiling!!! Then you are led to an underground cenote which has a footbridge and is well lit, showing the colors of the water and the cave itself. The photos on this page are true. After this you get in your vehicle and drive 10 minutes to the next leg of the tour. It's the best part, as you are given life vests and masks, and a guide leads you down a cave entrance . Hundreds of freshwater fish are at the waters edge. You plunge into the cool water and go on a tour, again marveling at the cave formations. The water is so clear we thought we were in an aquarium. If you have snorkel bring it, as it's an amazingly clear pool of water filled with fish. Only 100 people visit per day .... you do need a car as it's way off the main road. Zoo is lousy and restaurant closed in June 2022. No matter, this was a highlight of trip.
