#2 of 5 Nature & Parks in Charlemont
Site 17 sits by itself one side of the paved path in a large area, very open for stargazing and listening to the river but sheltered with trees for enough tent privacy.
Love Mohawk trail state park for camping, very scenic area, right just next to the park, decently clean bathrooms!
DAR State Forest Goshen 12.2 mi away

Such a hidden, untainted gem When I was there, the weather was perfect and we only ran into 5 people during our time there who were sunbathing and fishing.
Fishing, kayaking, camping, can do it all.

The second hike took me from the pond trail to the vista point which looks out to Baldwin Hill in North Egremont and then onto the Wildcat Trail heading North for about 3 miles where it meets Beartown Mt trail.
Plenty of hiking trails,( kinda cool the Appalachian trail crossed over 2 that I did).
#3 of 4 Nature & Parks in Pittsfield
Great for hiking, camping, picnics, xc-skiing and mountain biking.
We have camped there, had family picnics there, and hiked the many trails there.

Two bunk beds, a wood stove, four chairs and a table.

The reservoir water was perfect temp for swimming in August, the campsites are large and spacious, the nature center host (Allison) was informative and had great ideas for learning and play.
Highly recommend this campground for some quiet time!

Convenient and great place for trail running and peace.
After a steady climb of ~2 miles, the trail curves to the right, flattens out, with the remaining 2 miles being downhill back to the starting point.
