- Jackie B.Driggs, ID6 contributionsEmma was super helpful. A wealth of knowledge and guided us to the many things to explore in Kildare, which we wouldn’t have otherwise known. But the topper was the Virtual Reality giving us the history. We flew with a falcon and it was so much fun! Thank you…Written March 4, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- May BKilkenny, Ireland680 contributionsI was brought here today ahead of Mother’s Day tomorrow. When we got married and that wasn’t today or yesterday a canteen of Newbridge silver cutlery was “ the” thing . The set was only for big occasions like the Stations and wakes .
The Doyle family got ahead of the market and started making cheaper cutlery , jewellery and all kinds of gifts like photo frames , plated silver stuff and even Christmas tree decorations.
But anyway , off we set . Newbridge can get very busy . We stole a march on the traffic by coming round through Athgarvan. That brings you around the back of Newbridge and close to the Newbridge Silver Centre .
They have started selling preloved items . What I would call second hand . But much better than what you’d find elsewhere . We got some Beatrix Potter figures . Her books were firm favourites with our lads when they were small .Now our children are passing the love onto their children. We got a Mrs. Tiggywinkle and a Peter Rabbit .
They had beautiful jewellery too, their own new stuff and older pieces as well.
Near the stairs , they have a Christmas shop and a silver piece of clothing worn by the supermodel Naomi Campbell . It’s a bodice according to the sign . I thought bodices were gone out of fashion but there you go. The grandchildren insisted on standing behind it and taking those selfies for showing their friends .
Oh I meant to say that there’s a lift up if you can’t manage a stairs . The museum has lots of beautiful clothes that film stars of my youth would have worn . Audrey Hepburn, Princess Grace , Elizabeth Taylor and so on .
There are items belong to Princess Diana , Victoria Beckham and more as well that my daughters and grandchildren would know better .
Downstairs there is a bargain section as well. More Christmas decorations. That’s a ton of Christmas shopping done .
They have some scarves and books as well.
The restaurant was very busy so we didn’t bother but we have been before and it’s good .Written March 18, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. So we have an affinity to St. Brigid .
Today on International Women’s day , We called to the center for a quiet time in contemplation . The youngsters were giving it holly in Kildare village . The centre is only over the road from it .
The Sisters keep a flame lit , as St. Brigid did . It stands on some bog oak with carved oak leaves .
It’s a lovely peaceful place . You can do a walk around the grounds and ponder on life. You can do longer more organized sessions or retreats as well.
The holy well nearby is lovely too.Written March 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - motorcar1Dublin, Ireland8,064 contributionsBase Entertainment near Maynooth is a great spot to bring children for a treat. There is loads of free parking and once you enter the building it is well laid out with plenty of play options . At four plus Adam wanted the soft play area and he had a wonderful hour and a half for €7.50.
The Centre is well staff with loads of staff to keep an eye on the children. There is a bowling alley too. There is a coffee shop for the adults too.Staff are very friendly.Written August 4, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lynn M1 contributionWe just returned from a wonderful trip to Ireland where we spent the majority of our time with Michael Lawler as our driver. My husband sat in the front seat with him peppering him with questions about his beautiful country. He knows everything about everything! Michael's professionalism, knowledge, and kindness made our trip one of the best we've taken with our family. We look forward to a return trip in the future!Written December 12, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
