- DanjiroLake Forest, CA246 contributionsI had some time prior to my flight and found this temple on Google maps, walking distance from my hotel (Sunee Tower Hotel). This temple exceeded my expectations. It looks like it may be been built relatively recently. The architecture is a blend of western and Thai elements, with a pyramid/obelisk type central tower feature. The mail hall, unlike most Thai temples, with their steep roof angles, has a rounded arch section. The most interesting feature to me were these two serpent like dragons sculptures at the entrance, that tower over the gate. There were also yellow boat like sculptures full of icons by the main Viharn. A tip: take shoes that are easy to slip on and off as the building and parts of the grounds require you to remove your shoes.Written December 26, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nick P51 contributionsPerimeter is a great running track, very busy early evening.
Nice small temple, beaten up outdoor gym, Basketball courts, photogenic candle monument and in the far SW corner, a small monument of thanks from WW2 POWs to the local people who gave them food during their captivity.
Avoid during the Songkran water festival unless you enjoy manic hysteria and dirty water fights....lots of people do. At new year a big fair and teak furniture market. Most weekends an amazing food night market on the adjoining walking street. Good buzz there once dark.
Very safe place with many friendly locals who like to try out their English. Ample parking in cross sectional road before 4pm. Worth a visit. Perimeter track well shaded by trees.Written February 9, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You need your walking shoes to get around this temple as it is spread out over a few acres. The surrounding forest trees provide a lot of shade which is a plus. There is nothing over the top or spectacular, more of a place offering meditation and reflection. Close to town so worth visiting for a few hours to see a different type of temple complex. I organised a lady from a nearby cafe to book a taxi for me back to town.Written April 28, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - steve hannantUbon Ratchathani, Thailand23 contributionsVery interesting to visit . Wooden temple built on water to prevent termites from eating ancient scrolls I was told. I could not find a “Rachabut Night Market” per se.Written December 28, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Steven SPattaya, Thailand546 contributionsLocated only 7kms north east of Ubon Ratchathani this temple complex is certainly worth a visit. Plenty of photo opportunities. The pigeons certainly detract from your experience around the 'floating' boat temple but it is what it is. Allow at least a couple of hours.Written April 28, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

They are not really tourist attractions for foreigners but either working temples for Thai Buddhists or monuments to the Buddha or revered monks.
Anyway what makes this site special are the two boat temples, one a landlocked replica of the royal barge complete with royal oarsmen and another a boat temple on a lake. Add to that a beautiful 3-storey bell tower and a 3-headed elephant at the entrance and you can see why even Thai tourist buses visit here.

Lots of people make a small donation to paste on the Buddha statue at the entrance to the main temple hall.Written February 16, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The museum on the first floor is bigger than we expected and full of well-written English history plaques (though many of the item description signs were only in Thai). Quiet and no attendants around to make you uncomfortable with stares, take your time to learn about Ubon Ratchathani's history from 15,000 years ago to the present.Written June 1, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
