- SummerDaysPhManila, Philippines1,005 contributionsLocation:
Tangadan falls is located in San Gabriel. This town is near San Juan, La Union. The drive to the registration area was quick and comfortable.
Reminders:
DO NOT FORGET to register at the tourist hall at the San Gabriel Municipal Hall and get a guide there before heading out to the jumpoff point. There will be a checkpoint and you will be asked to go back if you can't show a receipt. If you are not a confident driver, make sure to hire a motorcycle or a jeepney in this area as well because you will be in for a very steep and scary drive.
Trail:
There are two options going to the falls. One is an hour-long trek and the other is a 15-minute walk along the cemented stairs.
Main attraction:
There were two falls, one big and one small. Each had their own pool where you can swim. We arrived at 12noon and the water was freezing cold. It was clean and nice to swim on. The pools have varying depths. If you are not a strong swimmer, use a life vest. Safety first. You can swim up to the big falls where you can have amazing photos taken.
There is a lot of space along the surrounding rocks where you can sit and leave your things while you swim. There are life vests for rent.
After your swim, you can use the changing areas for a fee at the falls area or the parking/jumpoff area.
What to wear:
Comfortable footwear (we used berks & crocs)
Light top and bottom (you can also wear your swim clothes)
What to bring:
Snacks and drink (there are also mini stores along the way)
Swim clothes
Change of clothes
Towel
Bags for your trash and wet clothes
Rates (Dec 2022):
Guide Php500 (we were four)
Motorcycle Php300 for 2 pax
Life vest Php60
Bathroom use for changing Php5
Souvenir bracelet Php50

I felt like we had to see it since we were in Rio and I'm glad we did. The line to get up however, was a different story. When you self buy the tickets it gives you a time and a "loading group" as far as I can tell this means nothing. We waited over an hour for our time and then stood in line, missed our time and group and they let anyone with any time in. It was a highly confusing system. Once on the bus it was slick. The statue is obviously over crowded but that was to be expected. It is a must see because of its fame, and status as a world heritage site, but know that the line system is meaningless and you'll be very confused.Written January 14, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NPLimLaguna Province, Philippines296 contributionsNot everyday we see this beautiful farm filled with grapes! When going around Caba, La Union, there are many grape farms. Some allows you to pick grapes from the tree as long as you pay for it, but for some farms you won’t be allowed to pick but you can buy the grapes that were already harvested by the farm owner.
The grapes aren’t that sweet and not all are seedless but the experience was worth the effort. My kids loved this activity. The repair has weathered well and now looks more like the original. Some items need repaired like the light fittings and the heritage plaque but all in all its a nice location for a walk and now hs a couple of decent restaurants beside for spending the day at the rocky beachWritten May 22, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dencon1219Luzon, Philippines89 contributionsIt was nice that they have a scheduled Mass in English for locals and tourists alike. - jonathanreyneraBacarra, Philippines12 contributionsI must say it is not the best beach i have been but it is changing. the people are now becoming more environmentalists. The place is great.. just need more education for the locals to take care of it. Nevertheless, there are very beautiful nature in the hills and mountains overlooking the beach.Written June 16, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KIMI4812Quezon City, Philippines1,056 contributionsOld churches have always a certain mystique and charm probably because of the many years that it has been a place of worship. In Agoo, the Basilica Minore of Our Lady of Charity is in the very heart of town along the Manila North Road and in the corner of Cases Road the municipality's main street. It was a humid afternoon and the wedding rite is set at 3:00 p.m. There were 38 godmothers and godfathers and everyone was dressed in gowns and coat and tie. The church was all adorned with flowers and the choir rendered beautiful soul touching songs for the Mass and the wedding itself. As you gaze at the beautiful statue at the center of the altar, Mama Mary seems so close and one feels so loved and cared by her. To her we always go to seek her powerful intercession,Written November 22, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - HazelAjman, United Arab Emirates62 contributionsIts a good place to visit but well recommended during cold season so u can spend more time as this is outdoors. The design and how they use the stones/pebbles in an artistic way is very creative. Bring lots of water with you to avoid dehydration.Written April 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jeahnna Nicole AstuciaLuzon, Philippines3 contributionsIf you want to go here, get ready for a bit of a bumpy road, it was short and sweet coming from Naguillian town proper. Just 7 km off the main road, you will see a aged sign "Tuddingan Falls". The entrance is just at the base of the bridge, you can park along the road. I highly recommend this tourist attraction if you go to La Union you will surely enjoy your vacation.Written February 22, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
