- WimPanama City, Panama118 contributionsAfter a nice drive to get to the parking lot it’s just a short walk to get to the waterfalls. It’s a beautiful view. We jumped in the pool and it was really cold but your body gets a boost! We sat next to the little lake to have a picnic and had a nice time.Written July 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Francisco Jose Fernandez SanchezLas Rozas, Spain596 contributionsIt is a delight to walk through the old cobbled streets of Vielha, see its old buildings and houses and finally spend some time entering the Museum of the Aran Valley, which in itself is a building that deserves to visit by itself.
The museum consists of four floors. On the ground floor there is a reception area for visitor services, where we also find a bookstore with specialized publications on Aranese culture. On the other floors we find the permanent collection itself, a compilation of archaeological, artistic and ethnographic objects representative of the history of the valley.
On the first floor there is a large audiovisual and an interactive map where Aranese geography is explained. In the second, we find a compilation of artistic and archaeological pieces such as the Christ of Escunhau or the Christ of Casarilh, and a series of ceramic vessels from antiquity found in the Aran Valley. On the third floor, the wardrobe des Privilègis or de las Sies Claus stands out, a wardrobe from the 18th century in the parish of Sant Miquel de Vielha that kept the documents of the Conselh Generau d'Aran. Inside it is where the Magna Carta of the Aran Valley called Era Querimònia was found, and there are also other utensils and clothing used by the members of the old Council. The fourth floor explains the historical evolution, closely linked to the industrial evolution of the Arán Valley in contemporary times.
But it is also very interesting the views that can be seen from the windows and admire the interior of the building not only what is on displayWritten September 17, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
