The view from the castle is amazing. We have gone as a family a few times, if going in summer season go late (after 6pm) as otherwise it is very hot! Going for sunset is beautiful take a picnic & water. Wearing trainers/ walking shoes is recommended as path is a little rocky in places

Palau Solterra has been transformed into a museum devoted to contemporary Catalan photography, with a permanent collection that offers a complete survey which is then complemented with solo shows to highlight different authors.
The building itself is worth the visit, an interesting medieval palace that was twice renovated in the late 19th and early 20th century to accommodate one of the local aristocrat families.

This house has been restored by the current owner and he has filled it with art and artefacts from his family history. Both the house itself and the exhibits are very interesting and the paintings of the local area show how much has changed in the last century.

Good as not many people ! Short walk from free car park . Where the river comes into the sea. Dog friendly. Quite rough when windy . If you're not a strong swimmer avoid when windy. No bar so take your own food and drink

We visited the photographic exposition on the history of Torroella and L'Estartit, which was fantastic and well presented. I suspect that the museum frequently offers expositions that might be worth checking.

Hopefully someone can get this into the correct category...
This is the new name for the pleasant eatery at the P & P Golf Club at Gualta. Such was the surroundings, that we were able to have some quality catch-up time with DD, while our grandson played safely with other children.
The wine was chilled properly and the food came out nicely presented, with the steak as ordered. Clearly popular with locals, and not just golfers, I imagine this is a favourite Sunday lunch venue.
We were able to walk off the meal without getting in the way of those enjoying a quick 9 holes.

I had four freediving sessions with Miguel Caldera in one week I stayed in L'Estartit. Miguel is a great instructor and highly recommendable. As a beginner I felt good noticing he places security first. I learned a whole lot and meanwhile had great fun. We spoke Spanish but when talking about freediving techniques etc. we switched to English just to make sure I get everything. It was easy since Miguel speaks very fluent English. One day we paddled to the islands with Lassdive kayaks and other days we rented a boat from the local Club Nautica, which was most easy with Miguel's help. I've said this to everyone and will say it here too: I was really lucky to find Miguel and Lassdive. Great guy, pro and flexible, everything went smoothly. You won't be disappointed!
