The place itself is simply wonderful, hidden away in a lush jungle with a very peaceful atmosphere, spacious shala, amazing pool and nice changing facilities with warm showers.
Beautiful experience to come to this outstanding retreat center, unexpectedly in the middle of the jungle yet only 1km inland from the busy beach road and the sea.

The trip to the market was informative as well as the visit to the spice shop.
Padhma was very informative with explaining each dish and we were involved at each stage.

My guide Chandu is super cute and professional :-) We visited local palm factory and enjoyed big king coconut , also prayed into silent temple, had good time with Sri Lankan candies :) 3 hours is just quite short...
He also incorporated a good amount of food tasting into the tour - everything from lychees, coconuts and the best Roti (hot hot roti shop in Galle Fort).

We visited the factory and were very impressed by the generous hospitality, the family story, the exact working process, beautiful colorful fabrics and best quality, ancient craftsmanship, 100% handmade.
Both for business and private purchases, Sooriya´s workshop is highly recommenable and the visits to the factory itself are very interesting and rewarding.

... little gelato place that we returned to many times over the rest of our trip (get the cinnamon cone!) Highly recommend Shanjei's walk as the best introduction to the multi-layered history of the Galle Fort.
A really enthralling walking tour of Galle fort, packed with plenty of interesting facts and Shanjei's wit, knowledge and humour were always in great form.
