The caves seem otherworldly and well worth a visit .Would love to visit again Be sure to wear appropriate footwear , even though the caves are lit , the floor can be uneven.
This is definitely an interesting day out for anyone with young children (as there are some fun things to do periodically around the caves), or for anyone wanting to learn a bit more about the local history.

We had a fantastic morning with Wayne gorge walking!!!!! Our children aged 8-10 loved the challenge of climbing slippery rocks, wading up the river, exploring a pitch black tunnel and generally embracing waterfall...
We saw a plethora of bird-life (including kingfishers, herons and more) and really loved the gentle rapid sections of the river.

... so much that we deferred our coffee (we were passing through and just on a break), to visit the Shire Hall (entry free, always a bonus), it is interesting, so much so that we went exploring, what a lovely town.
This was a great short visit, lots of rooms to explore and kids loves the dungeons where prisoners were once kept.

Well worth a visit, and some surprising exhibits from Charles Rolls of Rolls Royce fame who lived locally to the shambles and the market place that once stood there.
