The church was dedicated in 1072 "to the Holy Mother of God", this is why it is named Notre-Dame (Our Lady).
My boyfriend has never been to Europe, so first Notre Dame and then this sweet church.

I made sure to look at Monet's paintings in books and at museums to give me a perspective from the artist's viewpoint before seeing the inspiration that is his gardens, kept in beautiful shape by several gardeners.
My wife has copied several of Monet's paintings for her own pleasure and adores Monet so visiting Giverny, Monet's home and gardens and the Lilly pond was a dream come true for her.

Our cruise line gave us a combination ticket to be able to go to this small museum.... we might have missed it otherwise.... it was delightful and had a charming garden as well....
Since one cannot return to Monet's garden after leaving for lunch, a visit to this museum is the perfect afternoon activity.
