We found wine tasting at Locorotondo, food at Alberobello, and vineyards galore. A lovely area to eat if you can get it freshly prepared. Be warned that some of the region has Italian type fast food like pasta that is pre made and then microwaved. Yuk!

Many tourists were walking around with nothing to do for three hours in the middle of the September days. For this reason, open a bit longer, the churches of this tiny town may give you something to do. This Rococo 1747 church is lovely. If you walk outside the town into the newer part, you may find open local style restaurants.

A beautiful and inviting piazza with plenty of bars and restaurants. The architecture is very well thought of and attracts you to have a seat and a drink. Italy has a flair to make places like these attractive without there being any extra decoration. A good example of that is the half round arc.

From the outside the Palazzo Ducale is very inpressive. On the 1st floor there are a series of rooms with wonderful historic painted walls and ceilings. Unfortunately the temporary exhibit pretty much blocked our view of the walls.

This is another church with no specific superior features to other churches. There many other larger and more beautiful churches to visit.

Everything was ready for us. We had booked and it was good to see three horses all saddled up and waiting patiently to go. All clean and tidy. Quite a gentle ride but nonetheless bracing. of the right size supplied. Very friendly and knowledgable staff. An hour’s ride for €25 is very good value.

I loved Martina Franca. We went on a Sunday when the whole town was taking a stroll after mass held in the rather splendid cathedral. A marching band played and the whole atmosphere was delightful. Friendly people and nice cafes. I would love to go back there

Without being our goal, we passed the narrow Via Principe Umberto in the Centro storico of Martina Franca and we were delighted by the beautiful view.
    Open 7:30 to 12:30 - 16:30 to 20:30.
