Beautiful viewpoint of Ella. We did the pre dawn climb and reached before sun rise. Takes about 15 minutes to hike to the top

Fantastic architecture but unfortunately full of tourists even if you visit when a train is not scheduled but it is a must visit when visiting Ella, we made sure to visit way before a train was scheduled but still lots of tourists, we stayed until the arrival of a train and then it got really busy but I feel it’s a visit you cannot miss, plenty of good little cafes around the area also!

An excellent walk with an amazing view at the top (you have to pay 930 LKR per person to get to the viewpoint) but BEWARE of locals, who will try to take you off the path - whatever they say don’t listen! We had one man come up to us wearing a uniform claim the path was covered in leeches (with the bloody feet to “prove it”) and we should go a different route - we did and inevitably another local came to guide us to the top and expected a cash payment afterwards. When we came back down the route we originally planned there was not a leech in sight!

A beautiful waterfall just in the outskirts of Ella. There are hordes of Hindu tourists in the falls. It is reached via tuk tuk or walking from Ella town.

Go there and ride the new small Calypso Train down to Bandarawela. Buy ticket at the station only and save money. Hang out on the train between the last carriage (observation carriage) and Guards area. Hang out door or sit in Observation carriage and face the opposite way to the seats. Hang your head out right hand side of winfow.

It was absolutely mind blowing , so beautiful, everything was incredible, don't listen to any negative reviews , especially nicolletes (incredibly written lies), there wasn't a single spider like she said, there's not bat poop everywhere it's pretty much just a little dirt and not really muddy either , I have to emphasize this as it may deter people like myself who read the worst reviews and I almost let this prevent myself and my wife from having one of the most incredible experiences of our life's and we have done alot of amazing things ( we live in hawaii). This is the perfect adventure and isn't too long either all whilst being one of the most unique experiences you can have on earth and the pool at the end was spectacular. We had it all to ourselves as well. Overall highly recommend to anyone . Maybe not if you're into adventures or are not able to climb a ladder for 30 seconds lol.

My husband and I went to the spice garden cooking class and it was excellent! Sam showed us his wonderful garden filled with spices and fruits - such a nice and unexpected addition to a usual cooking class. His sister then took us through making 7 dishes which were all delicious. He also arranged transport there and back on request which was very helpful. We couldn’t recommend the experience enough!

We went for a tea tour, it was very informative and we were able to try the teas. It wasn't a very long process but I'm not sure you'd want any longer as it's warm in place in the factory.
    It was 1000 rupees each.
Would definitely say it's something you should go and see if you are a tea fan.

Went for a nice walk and got some great views of the valley and the water falls. You can buy cold water along the way at reasonable prices if you don't want to pack water with you.

    A Must-Visit Gem: Mini Adam’s Peak

As a tour guide, I’ve had the pleasure of leading many guests to Mini Adam’s Peak, and it never fails to impress. This trek offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and accessibility, making it a standout experience for visitors to Ella.

The hike is relatively short but provides an incredible payoff with panoramic views that showcase Sri Lanka’s stunning landscape. From the lush tea plantations to the mist-covered mountains, the scenery is nothing short of breathtaking.

The trail is well-maintained and manageable for hikers of various skill levels, making it a fantastic choice for families, solo travelers, and seasoned adventurers alike. The summit rewards you with serene vistas and a sense of accomplishment that’s hard to beat.

Mini Adam’s Peak offers a glimpse into the serene beauty of Sri Lanka and is an essential part of any Ella itinerary. Highly recommended for those seeking both a memorable adventure and stunning natural beauty.

This was an amazing and grounding experience. Tutu and his aunt are so friendly and authentic. The food you cook is authentic too and the flavours were bursting. The best food we had in Sri Lanka. Really something unique and to never forget! Thank you!
