In March 2022, we visited the Mount Kenya animal orphanage, which is located close to Nanyuki.
The main objective of the center is the survival in the wilderness of a very fine and critically endangered antelope: the bongo.
We were amazed by the huge job made by the keepers for animals well being. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Altogether, we highly recommend to visit the animal orphanage, especially for families with children.

    A wonderful experience
guides know their stuff and are very accommodating
Beautiful (but tiring)walk through the forest.
Jumping into the pools was the highlight of the trip, though the water is not as advertised- definitely not blue or clear

In April 2022, we visited Ol Jogi conservancy.
The landscape is very fine and varied with a wonderful red dazzling canyon.
    We also visited:
    - the animal orphanage. We saw white rhinos, cheetahs, African wild dogs, many colourful birds
    - the center of patrol dogs against poaching
We Highy recommend to visit Ol Jogi conservancy!!!

It was good to visit the school and see the progress being done with the newer school building. .... A lot of work and support is still very much needed here for the kids, but the teachers are dedicated and doing their best with what they have. Meeting the kids was a blast and we enjoyed interacting with them.

My dad and I took a 2.5 week safari in Kenya and Tanzania with Odyssey Safaris. What an extraordinary, unforgettable experience! From our first communications, through the very end of our trip, Odyssey provided exceptional service. We selected a personalized itinerary that allowed us to visit several parks and conservation areas in both countries, and to see a variety of wildlife. Most importantly, the guide that we worked with, Jackson, was incredible. His professionalism, knowledge and understanding of wildlife are unmatched. Learning from him was a highlight of our trip. The logistics that Odyssey coordinated could not have gone smoother, including airport pickups, park entries, accommodation reservations and more. We stayed in a mix of tented camps and lodges. Each place was unique, with excellent food and cleanliness. In short, Odyssey provided an exceptional experience in every regard.

My friend and I did Mt. Kenya (Sirimon-Chogoria) with Eldad from Ahambi Tours and it was a great and recommended experience.

Eldad was very calm, knowledgeable and friendly. We felt very safe with him, and he adapted very well to our needs. He was super patient with our endless stops to take pictures, and he helped us to overcome a small “cooking-challenge” we had to face. With other guides I have felt some sort of paternalistic approaches, but with Eldad we did not feel this at all. We shared really nice conversations, and he also helped us to spot a lot of wild animals!: Zebras, Buffalos, Birds, Baboons…

In summary we couldn’t have had a better guide and we are extremely grateful for this experience!

    Asante Sana! :)

Nothing is too much effort for Julian and his team. The guides are knowledgable, kind and competent. Their knowledge on the mountain and its fauna and flora are endless and they won't hesitate to offer a helping hand should you struggle acclimatising to the thin mountain air. They also successfully managed to guide several groups of climbers from different experience levels up to Nelian and Batian. The porters run up the scree slopes like mountain goats carrying loads double their body weight. You arrive at camp with all the tents set up and a kettle of boiling water ready for afternoon tea and biscuits. Moses and the kitchen crew cook up (*chef's kiss*) delicious three course meals for breakfast and dinner, lunch is usually on the go but nonetheless equally tasty. I really hope chef Moses takes my recommendation seriously about publishing a cookbook. I can't wait to return soon.
(PS: Special shout out to Bonface, Elijah and Joseph who made our trip extra memorable)

Jemu Mwenda Expeditions is the most outstanding guide company! James and his entire team are thoughtful, accommodating and beyond knowledgeable regarding wildlife and conservation. This is my 2nd time in Kenya, and I have fallen even more in love with this country. James has spent so much time in the African bush as a farmer, ranger and conservationist that he understands patterns, behaviors and thoughts of the wildlife. He has a deep connection and respect for the environment as a whole. When you travel with James, he offers so much more than just the amazing accommodations and perfect photography set-ups. He strives to also make it a thoughtful and peaceful experience for the wildlife, taking into consideration the impact human presence has on the animals, environs and community. Additionally, he truly cares about your experience and desires for your trip. He doesn't make you feel like a tourist, instead like a friend as he shares the beauty of his home.

I have traveled with other guides in Africa and North America. Jemu Mwenda Expeditions is by far the best and will be my first choice in the future. I'm so keen to book my next trip with him (hopefully the volunteer experience!) and refer as many people possible to book with him in the meantime! You should not hesitate to do the same. I promise you will not regret it.

I traveled with Wilson and Peter for 24 days to see the most wildlife I could on my meager budget. They were sweet guys, doing everything possible for me to see (and photograph) the awesome wildlife of Kenya. Honest, reliable. LONG game drives! Saw and photographed the big 5 and so many more. New species every day! Great tour company to meet your requests!

Kenya is my forever home and having being away for a yr plus, a hike was something I looked forward to. I’m a lover of nature, wildlife and hiking. I was referred to WildMont Tours by a friend, i was a little skeptical as this was my first with a tour agency but this was the best decision for my vacation. What carried me away from the onset of our arrival at the airport was the professionalism expressed by their staff personnel. They received us so warmly to check us in our hotel as they meticulously and cheerfully briefed us on our upcoming itineraries for the 5day Mt Kenya Hike and 3day Maasai Mara Wildlife Safari.
Our 5day Mt Kenya Hike using the Sirimon down Chogoria route was to commence the following morning at 05.30hrs and the team to pick us was already there I think 40mins to pick up time! Our 4hr drive from Nairobi to Mt Kenya’s Sirimon’s Gate was nothing short of great experience and fun thanks to our assigned guide Mr Benson and the driver David. You guys literally ensured we missed nothing along the way! From seeing my beautiful home towns to the ever breathtaking coffee and banana plantations!
At Sirimon gate we were warmly received by another team of 4 porters and the chef who assisted us to Old Moses camp ahead of 2nd day accent to shipton camp. Our hike continued for the next 3 days. The team was very well versed with the area and very professional Oh! And the chef’s meals were super sumptuous!
The guide always ensured we acclimatized well as we ascended the mountain and making it to the peak was just glorious!! (He was even kind enough to allow us take as many pics as we desired for the gram 😊) I mean the breathtaking view of sunrise from the peak was a sight to behold!
We later headed for a 3day wildlife safari at the Maasai mara to cool off ahead our return flight. My 3 friends who had never been to Kenya were thrilled at the experience of seeing wildlife upclose. Camping in the masai mara, interacting with the local maasai people was a great experience.
Thank you Wildmont Tours for the great stay… We are most definitely coming back and with more friends!!

We wanted to show our grandson a different way of life in a very different country. As the schoolchildren sang for us: "God gave me education" - Carsten gave us a wonderful insight in the way Kenya is developing culturally, politically economically etc. We also experienced the fantastic wild life in both Ol Pateja and Masai Mara - all put together in a perfect program. Wonderful driver Ken was an integrated part of the tour and gave us his deep insight in the life of animals and birds. We have never met a better team before and we are truly thankful for this perfect trip
