- dlmsighLong Island, NY110 contributionsVisited with a tour group. Katy, from The Mammoth Site, is an excellent person to tell you about what is happening in the pit. "The pit" is where they continue to search for bones from centuries ago. The actual pit is the biggest part of the museum, and you will likely see people working in it while you are there. This is a live dig site that they built a " museum" around. Very interesting and amazing.Written August 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TetonsnowTulsa, OK143 contributionsCascades are really neat. It’s a relatively small-ish area so you will be close to people if there are a lot there. Be careful because the rocks naturally get slick. There are a couple of covered picnic tables if you want to bring a lunch.Written July 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paul HWest Chester, OH3 contributionsVery affordable way to spend a few hours at a pool. I was enticed by the spring fed pool, but the pool was not hot water by any stretch. It was 87 degrees, which is not cold, but not hot either. On the plus side, they do have a suana, a nice steam room and a couple of hot tubs. Steam rooms are hard to come by and I thoroughly enjoyed detoxing in there. Pool had some nice features including 2 water slides but be advised that this facility was built decades ago, so the walkways and edges are all concrete. Not a big deal, but notable.Written June 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Shawn (SpideyT)4 contributionsClean, very spacious, shaded, beautiful lake, bike trails were amazing, (although a day camping group brought 5 large dogs to the beach unleashed, and they chased my wife and sister in law, then bit another biker, even after apologizing and being warned twice to put them on a leash). A little "buggy" but it was August, and outside so just slightly more than you might expect. Grounds maintenance folks were attentive and did a very good job. My biggest complaint is that the trees along the entrance are not trimmed to allow for entry without scraping limbs along the roof. There was unnecessary minor damage to my brother in laws rv, and some scrape marks on mine. It was unavoidable, but with a little trimming, very preventable. Overall, we loved the park!Written August 12, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Lorna B.Bechtelsville, PA884 contributionsWe visited here as part of a two-week-long road trip from our home in southeastern PA to the Dakotas in the summer of 2023; after several days in the Black Hills area, we headed south to western Nebraska, and this museum was right along our route. This is an older-style museum, but its four floors were packed with pioneer and regional historical artifacts. The collections were very eclectic but enjoyable: saddles, old tools, farming implements, barbed wire, lanterns, china & glassware, pottery, sewing machines, Victorian housewares & apparel, and more. In all, we spent just under one hour exploring this museum and enjoyed it. Note that there is no air-conditioning here (I can’t imagine that would be good for preserving the museum contents, to be honest).Written June 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AngelaMB12Hanover, PA335 contributionsWe had a bit of extra time, so my 19 year old found this museum on Google and we decided to go. The owner/fossil finder just happened to bring in a new fossil while we were there. He was very friendly and showed us an item behind the counter and told us stories of his searches. The pieces in the museum are very unique. The gift shop was also nice with reasonably priced items. Veteran's receive a discount and a free fossil. The employee working the day we visited was knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely worth a hour or so of your time.Written June 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Lacey H21 contributionsIt’s early in the season and the park workers were working hard to get the park ready for summer. In the meantime this place was a breath of fresh air on my long drive across the country with my dog. There is a beautiful creek running through it with bright red cliffs bordering the edge. Old growth trees create plenty of shade. There are portapotty bathrooms and a covered gazebo area for gatherings. I would absolutely make this is stop again. Plus, it’s by the little town of Hot Springs which is under a ton of construction at the moment but seems very charming.Written May 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - leafy5 contributionsThe young lady heading the tour was very knowledgeable and did a good job. I had never been on a cave tour before, so wasn't sure what to expect- chose the tour labeled 'easy' difficulty. It's cold down there! At one point she turned off all the lights and we were plunged into utter darkness for several long moments- honestly do not recommend that part specifically (haha). Overall, interesting- it's not super exciting, but don't hesitate to give it a try!Written May 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MyPrairieGirlRoseglen, ND313 contributionsWe stopped by here on our way to Cascade Falls. What a pretty little picnic area!
Be warned by the signs, poison ivy by the river so don't go down to the water unless you can identify this mean plant!Written August 24, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The man we talked to was very helpful. They had a lot of informational pamphlets about Hot Springs as well as informational pamphlets about the surrounding area. It was "worth the stop."Written July 10, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- bigtykeGreeley, CO8,025 contributionsI had driven thru Hot SPirings 4 times before and finally decided to stay there and walk this trail. It goies along the Fall RIver which runs the length of the town.
There is a nice waterfall and a gazebo with another spring along the way as well as small parks.
Very nice.
We met a local woman who said they will be improving along the river so it will be deven better in the future.Written June 29, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
