U can save money if u plan well and research all ur timelines properly n don’t forget to reserve. Some of the stuff they offer is very stressful to try to fit it in ur day. U spend more time stressing if ur gonna make it to the next event in time. I wouldn’t get it again when/if I visit again. I would rather have a more relax vacation where I can do things when I want not feeling like if I don’t I just wasted the day pass n I already pre- paid for it. Cost savings isn’t much if u do ur research n google the actual place urself. Read the fine print. Some tours is just a tour n don’t actually get u admission in. If u only mange to get one thing in then u basically wasted the day pass n could of just went to that place without n it woulda been cheaper. Only beneficial if u fit at least 2-3 things per day.. which again.. can be stressful.
What we did…. We got the 3 day pass cause we wanted to get a premium event. Thank goodness we didn’t have to use it consecutively as we would have been super exhausted. We spaced it out every other day. The other days we beached, did lookouts, explored high rated food places. Etc.
Day 1 - Pearl harbour - did the submarine, battleship, airplane museum and the Missouri. -note to do all this does take all morning/lunch time with small kids -
We wanted to add a hike or surfing lessons to this day, but couldn’t make it to their timelines. So kinda a waste of a day pass as it would have cost the same at the Pearl harbour entrance for the day
Day 2.
Morning-
Kalua Ranch- we upgraded our tickets for $15 each to the movie tour - what the gocity offers is just silly. U need to upgrade to enjoy it.
Afternoon evening- Polynesian culture centre. - we upgraded our ticket to include the buffet & fire show after. - tho it’s an extra $68 per person, the buffet n show is worth it. The actual culture centre is okie. Only good if u really wanna learn n get involved.
Day 3-
Morning - rode moped n coupes throughout Honolulu. Amazing amazing. Totally recommend on its own. Wish we weren’t press for time or else I’d rather rent it for the entire day. Just an amazing way to see all the lookouts n major sites.
Afternoon- turtle canyon snorkeling
It’s was good. Ur only off of Waikiki beach so the views are great for photos n of Diamond head. U do get to see turtles. Saw about 6 of them. Crew is extremely helpful with getting ur gears on n helping u spot the turtles n even taking ur pics in the water.
If ur a good planner and really good to sticking with schedules then do it. (bigger groups n kids do make sticking with schedules challenging) If not, just do everything u want n pay the price at each event/site. Cost relatively just the same without the hassle of hustling to next station in time
