What travelers are saying
- Wilson LVancouver, Canada4,166 contributionsI rented the Harley Black road glide for a day and ripped around the island and had an absolute blast. Super friendly staff, and easy to rent from. The bike was super fun to ride, would definitely recommend Chase for all your motorcycle rental needs.Written March 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - kez234Mudgee, Australia15 contributionsStar Beach Boys were a prickly bunch as previous reviews stated. We hired beach umbrellas from them on numerous occasions during our recent stay. One stand out was Jason, nicest, friendliest staff member, he mentioned to my husband he was in charge of the Outrigger canoes. I guess like all jobs you have your good days and bad days, nice clients and awful clients. All in all we would recommend these guys to hire from.Written September 16, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David MWilliamstown2 contributionsIf you want a surf board to hire - and you have found Hawaii Surfboard Rentals - your job is done. Use Dan and his team - it is that simple.
We emailed from the website - a quick SMS chat to understand our needs and about two hours later - 2 long boards perfect for our learning kids delivered free to our hotel door! It was that easy.
But wait there's more ... Dan then gave the kids some quick advice and us parents local knowledge on where to surf (safely) ... and we were away.
But then there's still more ... what do we do with the boards when we are finished? Well Dan came back to our hotel to collect them for free from us.
So ... Check out the website, make an enquiry, surf boards get delivered to your hotel, surf in the warm Hawaii waters and then the surf boards are collected back from your hotel. It couldn't get much easier.
Oh, if you're a hard core surfer, there are more options available to you as well - just ask the team and I'm sure they will be able to help.
Well done Hawaii SurfBoard Rentals. You have made two parents very happy with the ease of this experience, two kids very happy with perfect boards to learn on and have our repeat business and highest of recommendations.Written October 2, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Slavek GTokyo, Japan2 contributionsRented two Pro bikes for cycling along the coast to Waimanalo Beach and also climbing Mt. Tantalus. Friendly and accommodating service as I was able to seamlessly reschedule my initial booking to one day earlier as the weather looked better on that day. No additional charge!Written February 5, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- SdlindmanLos Angeles, CA3 contributionsHad an absolutely fantastic time. The coaches (shout out to Shane!) were super patient and made sure we were safe and having fun. - AcmelbournegirlMelbourne, Australia74 contributionsI’d hired four bikes in Hawaii before I came to ITB, and given it’s so easy to ride here I’d began to wonder why I’d booked this three hour session. But I don’t regret a thing now and I’m very glad I did.
Carl was great. He took my specs and fitted the bike to me before I arrived, made sure it had a female saddle on it (the other bike shops I rented from didn’t do this). Honolulu is pretty easy to ride around, but having the insider there to show you all the spots and make sure you don’t get lost (it’s easy not to get lost but nice to know you don’t have to worry anyway). Carl asks enough questions to get an idea of what you want to do and then just gets to it. Probably the highlight of my trip, I’d recommend you do this when you’re in town. Thank you.Written July 14, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My instructor, Barney, explained and demonstrated the proper technique on the beach and got me up on the first wave with a push. For the next hour or so , he coached me doing it myself. It was a blast!Written March 18, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- traceydufton65Owen Sound, Canada3 contributionsRented a Roadster and had a blast touring the Island. Bike was wonderful and the scenery amazing. Saw the "Eddie's" surfing! No words to describe that awesome experience. Downside - small gas tank and was not informed of mileage per tank. No bags with the bike for any storage (sunscreen, camera, sweater, etc). But a back pack was serviceable. Would do it again.Written June 13, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Christine G3 contributionsThe Guys at E-bikes Hawai'i (the store in Hawi) were super friendly and knowledgable. They made sure my trip would be a safe one and picked out a bike that would work well for me. The bikes were well maintained, quite new in fact. That made up for the fact that they are a bit in the pricey side.Written January 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Goldaustralia52 contributionsI rented a board here as our hotel is right next to it. I rented it for a week for a reasonable price of $165. Better than hiring it for a day. Locker is provided which is great for storing the board. As I surf a lot in Australia, I picked a classic 9’6” Creative Army board by Josh Constable, an Australian shaper from Noosa. It is a great board!!! Perfect for riding the waves in Pops (Populars) . I was assisted by Han, who is very helpful, cool and knowledgeable. I call him Eminem of Waikiki. They do have wide range of surfboards available depending on your skill level. If you’re planning to surf, bring your own wax. It’s very handy.Written January 6, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Joseph S1 contributionThese people are the best! They have a great selection of seriously upscale clubs at an excellent price. The weekly rate is even better! So if you're thinking about slepping your clubs to Hawaii, check out their site first.Written October 14, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - biker222Victoria, Canada10 contributionsRented a bike for the Century Ride. On the plus side, the bike was there as promised, with a properly equipped tool bag, pump and the pedals I’d asked for. The counter guy was polite and got the job done efficiently.
On the negative side, the bike had shifting issues during the ride. Front derailleur would not shift. Made the ride frustrating. Even stopped in at the Bike Shop tent on the course and the technician did his best but only unfroze it for 5 minutes or so.
When I returned the bike the mechanic wasn't too interested. I am convinced either the shifter or derailleur is simply worn out. In fairness to the shop, it was an "intermittent" problem. It would only happen under load, ie. while riding. On the stand it shifted fine. I know how devilish those intermittents can be to diagnose, so will give the shop the benefit of the doubt.
I was hoping for some offer of a discount given I rented a defective bike and while none was offered at the counter, the company did follow up with me and hearing my concerns, did refund half the cost of the rental.
From my years in customer service it was hammered into us that it is never the initial customer complaint that drives customers away, rather it is the manner in which the complain is handled. In this case the company came through and turned a negative situation into a positive one, and results in a happy customer and a good review. Well done.Written September 30, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
