Star Beach Boys were a prickly bunch as previous reviews stated. We hired beach umbrellas from them on numerous occasions during our recent stay. One stand out was Jason, nicest, friendliest staff member, he mentioned to my husband he was in charge of the Outrigger canoes. I guess like all jobs you have your good days and bad days, nice clients and awful clients. All in all we would recommend these guys to hire from.

Awesome surfing experience. This shop is Highly recommended for their services, coaching and making everything easy for beginners. They have done millions of the surfing trips and know everything.

The Videos and photos are best gifts you take with you. They are working so hard to catch the moments on the surf boards and on the waves.

    Good job!

Not sure if this place is changing ownership or what, but used to be called Volcanic Climbing and Fitness and had a smaller sister location in Kailua that is more dedicated to climbing. The Honolulu branch which is tentatively called Climb to Fitness offers more amenities that you would expect from a regular gym. They have no top-roping climbing, just bouldering, which can be busy in the evenings and on weekends, to the point where it's chaotic. There are also no rules about children, so on weekends you can often see toddlers playing on the crash pad mats and kids running around. I wish they established a better system for this.

The rest of the gym is adequate. Good standard machines and cardio room. Yoga room. Pool and spa, ice bath, sauna, steam room.

The whole thing could use some TLC, big time. A fresh coat of paint downstairs and in the locker rooms would go a long way! Some fake plants or ANYTHING to make it feel less dumpy (for lack of a better word). Ceiling tiles missing in areas showing exposed pipes. Flooring only partially finished in others. Hopefully the change in management (?) or whatever is happening will mark a new era of improvements to the aesthetics and general feel, since this place really could have a lot of potential under the right direction.

Just as the other reviews have noted Thomas is a terrific instructor. Knowledgeable and personable. He made our family feel comfortable jumping in the water and paddling out with him. We each were able to ride a wave or two thanks to his help. Capt. Dan was also very kind and personable. They made our morning on and in the water very enjoyable.

The staff were excellent. Shout out to Anna and Oscar in the office plus Abby, Alec and Capt Steve at the boat. Great job by all. The only thing that would have earned 5 stars with me would be longer dives with a mandatory 1 hr surface interval. Trying to do boat trips at 7, 9:45 makes it feel too rushed.

Tata was an amazing tour guide! She was very knowledgeable about all areas of the Island. She was very accommodating with our needs and timetable. She took lots of pictures of us with the scenery in the background. This made the trip for us since they were the only pictures of us on the whole trip! We felt very fortunate to have had Tata as our guide. This was our first time to Hawaii and we felt we got a good view of the island with her narrations. Thank you for making us feel so valued as customers and making our trip so memorable.

Shell at swim lesions Hawaii went above and beyond to show our Girl Scout troop the Aloha Spirit! She coordinated a surf lesson for our 11 scouts which they will remember forever. Her communication and execution was professional and her personality is lovely. Clearly the folks at Swim Lessons Hawaii have a passion and calling for what they do. I wouldn’t hesitate to book an experience with their team. I am sure it will be the highlight of your trip!
