    Worth the visit but you probably don’t need too long
    We visited and did the “passport” day ticket. It is recommended on all the sites to allow 6-8hr for the day … unless you are extremely patriotic, walk very slowly or want to read every sign, you really don’t need this long!
    We were there about 2-2.5hr and felt that was more than enough.
    Be mindful you need to take shuttles between the sites, so depending how busy it is, allocate time for that!
    Also be mindful that the day involves a lot of walking! Wear comfortable shoes.
    The ship was most impressive and we enjoyed that the most - spending most of our time there rather than the other sites.
    A good and interesting experience.

    A bit sad
    We enjoy our visits to Chinatown because there are Asian food ingredients we like, a good selection of fresh fish and meats and excellent fresh fruit and vegetables. Sadly in spite of numerous clean up efforts and some new food outlets a few blocks away the homeless problem appears to have got worse. Our bus driver was abused on the way there by a homeless person - he handled it with extreme tolerance. We walked from the centre of Honolulu and there were homeless sleeping/passed out along the way which is quite disconcerting. We now understand why our hotel security guard warned us about visiting.

    Small but useful
    Very small shack. There are restrooms and a food truck selling food and water as well as pineapples. After a hike in the hot sun, more shade or air conditioning would be helpful.
