My sister and I are Australian and got these tickets, no issues - lots of trolleys. We would have liked and English map :)
Helpful drivers who used English as well when we were on the trolley.

our return trip to airport, we were picked up 30 min later than original pickup time, and nobody was on a shuttle :(
thus I recommend to book it earlier when you want them to pick up.

The bus service is cheap and convenient.espevcially for seniors. Show your medicare card and a bus ride costs only $1. If you are going to be there for a few days, then go to a transit center and they will give you a senior pass $6 for a whole month of travel on as many buses as you can use. We went to the Kalihi Transit center for $1 each and rode the buses for 7 days for only $6 each! The buses go just about anywhere even the North shore where the surfing competitions are held.

Tell the bus driver where you are going and he will make sure that you get off at the right stop. Several times they gave us directions if the place was not directly on the bus route.

A trip may be a little bit slow because hte buses make a lot of stops. Also a lot of seniors ride the bus and the bus driver waits until they are seated before he starts to move. Also, people in wheel chairs use the buses, and the bus driver sets the wheelchair restraints in place for them before he moves.

It is part of the culture of Oahu.

The good: busses are clean and drivers are friendly. They run frequently and service just about anywhere on rhe Island of Oahu. You can buy a HOLO card at any ABC store for $2.00 and put money on it. Then you can ride anywhere for $3 per ride not to exceed $7.50 per day. Over 65's can get a photo HOLO card at sattelite city hall offices and ride for $20 per month. When considering Oahu traffic, rental car prices, parking and gas, this is the way to go. You can get from Waikiki to the North Shore in 90 minutes. The drive in a car with typical traffic is about an hour. Also, you meet really nice people and get great advice on places to eat. Etc.

The Bad: sometimes the busses are late or routes confusing. But Google Maps has a "Bus" option that tells you everything you need to know and the drivers are very helpful.

I work at the airport for 7 years and they are convenient when needed. But today, one the dispatchers at the inter-island terminal mislead the passengers I assisted. The passengers had a connecting flight with a different airlines, this meant their next flight will be at a gate in a different terminal. I requested to drop us off to their next gate but the dispatcher did not want to call a bus for us.

She said we needed to go to the airline’s lobby and have the passengers wait there until their flight shows up on the flight board. She then goes on and pick out random reasons why they have to go to the lobby, which was way far fetched.

In the end, she influenced my passengers to walk to the airline’s lobby and wait there until their flight shows up on the flight board and gate number.

There was no reason for the passengers to wait at the lobby just because their flight was not on the flight board yet. The passengers would have to re-enter TSA and walk an even farther distance.

I’m a upset because she clearly wasted the passenger’s time and disregarded my work experience and knowledge of these type of situations. I’ve been doing this for so long and I know what the most efficient thing to do for passengers connecting to a different airline.

I would appreciate it if the worker their would just focus on her job and not tell me what I should and should not do.

I don’t tell the dispatchers how to do their job.
