Great hike! Beautiful sunrise view and a great workout. A little crowded but most people had good trail manners and patience.

The staff were incredibly friendly, beach was perfectly clean, and they do an instructional video on how to be safe near the reef as well as awesome info one what animals, plants, and coral there is. I would straight up get married here. Not busy because they limit reservations!

Enjoyable beach with wonderful views and clear blue waters. Lots to see and do and it was great that the trolley ran near by .

I hiked this & many other trails on 09/08 during my first visit to Hawai'i & posted a vlog! Search "Nikko Gandia Travels" on YT.

The trail felt moderate to me. The incline is abrupt, take breaks when needed and enjoy the views. Consider bringing a walking pole or stick, going back down may be more difficult for some. Small section towards the top without ground coverage - take Murphy's bypass to avoid this (look for sign). Great views of north, east, and south O'ahu at the summit.

I hiked this & many other trails on 09/12 during my first visit to Hawai'i & posted a vlog! Search "Nikko Gandia Travels" on YT. Parking lot was almost full by 7:30am on a Friday. Great views at the summit of Makapu'u Beach and the rest of the east coastline in the distance. Easy gradual incline and paved trail all the way through.

Hema was our tour guide through Karma Tour Hawaii and she was the best. Her wonderful personality and knowledge really made the hike wonderful! We had a small party my husband, my 8 year old son and an another couple. We had so much fun and the vegetation and the falls were perfect. The hike is not for folks with knee or back problems but otherwise not a bad hike. Would suggest going in the morning less crowded and not as hot. If you are lucky enough to get Hema it will be cherry on top!

We were at the hotel next to this park, we spent time here everyday. Beautiful trees, well groomed lawn, a great place to go for a walk.

A long steep drive but worth it. You get a view of the entire Diamond Head cone. The little lawn area in front of the lookout was a scene from an Elvis Presley movie. You also get to see some beautiful homes perched on the mountain side.

I used to go there nearly every day to swim a mile in the 70's in graduate school at UH-Manoa. Rode a bike down from Manoa Valley.

Nice, quieter beach a little further away from the busyness of Waikiki. A short and pleasant walk from the centre of town. The sand in some areas is a bit rockier. It's close to magic lagoon which is very nice and good for swimming and paddleboarding. A longer beach as well so it's not as crowded. Another bonus is it is right in front of Ala Moana centre for food and shopping! Parking isn't an issue, lots available.

What a gem of a place. Spent almost two hours wandering and enjoying some rare quiet In Honolulu
Nicely marked trails and due to the wetter than normal conditions the waterfall made an appearance
Adjacent to Moana Falls area so if you’re thinking of doing one you can likely manage both.
You’ll need reservations but easy to do

A good sized park located between Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head. There are frequently displays, free Hawaiian Band Concerts and today the Waikiki Art Fest, Zoo Wall Art and the Na Hula Festival all on the one day.

The only reason we didn’t give it 5 stars is because we weren’t able to actually see all the animals. The orangutans were our favorite part!

I sort of stumbled on this state park when scanning a map....I know I'm old and love paper maps.....of Honolulu. It seemed not too far from the Punch Bowl, but with the winding streets it takes a few minutes to arrive at the top. There are only about a dozen parking spots at the very top, but mid-day we had the place almost to ourselves. What amazing views of the entire city!
