With so so weather we needed a plan B and this was a good way to kick off the afternoon. Budget a bit over an hour for your visit. Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy to get to by The Bus, and close enough to the Iolani Palace to fit them both in for a nice morning or afternoon.

Aliʻiōlani Hale located in downtown Honolulu, Hawaii, currently used as the home of the Hawaii State Supreme Court. It is the former seat of government of the Kingdom of Hawaii and the Republic of Hawaii.

Opened in 1969, it is a bit of a concrete monstrosity but it helps by being an open quadrangle in the centre open to the skies, There is a large glass mosaic in the centre.

We roamed by this important building downtown and appreciated its grandeur. Not the most important site, but pleasant enough.

A nice little base that is 100 times better than any other base in Louisiana. The people are friendly however the roads are a bit confusing and on the smaller side. I strongly suggest using GPS at first

A very attractive historic building with a big green space out front. One of many reasons why it's worthwhile to take a tour of downtown.

Our guide at Washington Place was knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. Throughout the house there are QR codes that lead to videos to help you learn more (though our guide, Zita, was extremely thorough!) My favorite part of the tour was upstairs where we could go in different rooms to see exhibits curated by Washington Place. I learned a lot about Liliuokalani and her life and amazing legacy. Additionally, the tour was small (15-20 people), which allowed for a better experience.

Located in the same area as the Judiciary Building and Iolani Palace, this building is often seen as the home of the Honolulu Police Department on Hawaii Five-O. It is a two story building with a large central staircase with large decorative columns.

This is a handsome building downtown, very near the Clock Tower and cruise ship port. A bit surprising for a tropical city, like Manhattan.

Was hoping to visit but it seemed no one was ever there when we went by. Older station with some great architectural elements such as the swing out doors. Needs a little work as one of the doors and windows were covered in plywood. I, at first, thought it was a shut down station until I saw cars stopped in back.
Did get to stop and talk to the FF's at station #7 at Waikiki Beach. Very nice bunch, very will to talk and was able to get a few t-shirts from them.
