What travelers are saying
- MLizGoodyear, AZ32 contributionsEven though thunderstorms prevented us from looking through the telescopes on the open deck, Observatory staff provided interesting information and answered questions about their education and careers. Fascinating introduction to the astrograph thru which Clyde Tombaugh discovered Pluto.Written August 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Helen H1 contributionSuch a great hidden spot! The volunteer was super friendly and created a great experience for the kids! I would highly recommend!Written August 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Carl FScottsdale, AZ22 contributionsThis is the best museum in Arizona by far. The Heard Museum offers nothing by comparison. The local prehistoric collections are very well represented and presented in such a way as to be informative. To one reviewer who thought they have nerve charging natives to get in, let me respond as follows. 1) What do you think pays for this museum? Visitors, including "natives". 2) I am a dual citizen with Italy. Do you think when I visit the great museums in Italy I show them proof of citizenship and walk in free? How ridiculous.

- Opinionated WomanMargaretville, NY71 contributionsThe Pioneer Museum has a bit of this and a bit of that which very nicely illuminates life in Northern Arizona. The lovely turn-of-the-century building exhibits artifacts from it's early days as a poor-house Hospital as well as displays about early tourism, ranch life, industry and more. Outside, an old train engine and caboose as well as a re-located cabin and many farm implements offer the opportunity for a nice stroll under the pines. Back in the main building, a really good gift-shop top off the visit. This is a nice museum for the whole family.Written April 12, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jennifer SPhoenix, AZ61 contributionsI popped in here after I purchased a bunch of stuff from across the street at Arizona Handmade Gallery. Of course I bought stuff from West of the Moon Gallery too. Both of the stores are charming and a MUST stop in. Great selection of cool & unique items and the prices are reasonable. A MUST stop in and see/shop for sure.Written August 10, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- KenpashaBellingham, WA774 contributionsI always like to look at the local goings on on the art galleries so on Thursday in Flagstaff (alt 7000 feet!) I stopped into a couple of places on San Francisco street. Here I bought some cards by tamara Hastie, a young person who does palette knife work that captures the feel of Arizona landscapes. Good work.
Other good art was noted in the gallery. Front staff also helpful.
Enjoy!Written June 19, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
