The park was well laid out and informative, and the staff was friendly and helpful.
It's a nice place to go for a few hours and learn about your history, get away relax and enjoy nature.

There are many new exhibits since our last visit including the Butterflies, Bugs & Blooms exhibit, The South Texas Botanical Exhibit & Park, the Russell Aquatic Ecology Center, the South American Free-Flight Aviar...
There is also a park with in the zoo with a splash pad type area... bring a change of clothes.

Plus, like most parks, they have some bird feeders so you can see local species like the Green Jay, quite easily.

Take the tram and learn about the history, flora and fauna of the park from one of the experienced, knowledgeable tour guides.

Beyond the park is a federal wildlife preserve which is restricted to federal employees and beyond that is Mexico.
Very happy to have found this beautiful place of nature.

Simply a Fantastic park that runs about 9 miles through town from north to south.
It is little retreat for those who like to reflect and be close to nature.
