If you’re having trouble picking between companies: stop looking and pick this one. They made sure we were safe by pointing out potential hazards, but didn’t babysit or infantilize the group. Sprayed our goggles with defogger to make sure everything was crystal clear. Also saw a few whales (including calf). Beat the big tourist boats to the sites. Took us to 4 different dive sites: 1. classic molokini crater, 2. backside of molokini, 3. drift dive by a hippo-looking rock, 4. near turtle town.
1. Molokini crater was just as promised. Crystal clear water with pretty fish galore. Top notch Classic snorkeling experience.
2. Backside of molokini was awesome. We were there on a day with high winds and big waves and the backside is not sheltered from this like the crater side is. I’ve never had such an adventurous snorkel experience with these big waves. Got to ride The Elevator where the natural motion of the wave on the cliffside swoops you up and down without crashing into the cliff. Very cool. Looked unsafe but was totally safe. Unforgettable.
3. Too windy w big waves for our group to go see the dolphin area so we did a fun drift dive along the coast near a rock that looked like a hippo. Group saw 2 big sea turtles, 2 eagle rays, and tons of cool fish here.
4. Final dive was next door to turtle town. Turtle town was packed with tourists so they took us to the cove next door. Turtles were EVERYWHERE. Big ones, small ones, swimmy ones, sleepy ones. Not supposed to touch them or disturb them which actually became challenging at times since it was hard to maneuver around so many!
If you get cold easily like I do, bring more than one towel and keep one of them dry. Tour leaves early enough that the cove wasn’t sunny yet. There is plenty of dry storage for a backpack under the bench. Take Dramamine at least 30mins before getting on the water if you get motion sickness or aren’t sure. No shame in the Dramamine game.
Great music. Great vibes. Great turkey sandwich.
