What travelers are saying
- Kate D18 contributionsIf you are in Atlanta, you definitely need to go to the MLK National Historic Site - you can do a tour of his birth home (admittedly, the guided tour we were on was very quick and crowded, not sure if they are all like that or it was just a time crunch since we came at the end of the visiting hours that day), see some exhibits on his life and legacy at the Visitors Center, see his final resting place and see a few other sights in the neighborhood like Ebenezer Baptist Church.Written March 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Greg FHendersonville, NC100 contributionsVery well done! Great stories and personal touches. I am very moved by it all. Too bad Dr King died so young! I think our country would be in a different place right.Written March 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - G800UTpeterwDevizes, UK72 contributionsThe tour itself was absolutely amazing.
Getting to see all of the back stage areas and go on the stage to see what it’s like to be in front of all those seats.
The tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable about all the things on the tour and some of the things that were not.
The only issue was booking tickets in the first place as without a USA zip code and phone number the web site kept crashing, but the tour was worth persevering to get tickets.Written March 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Go2theZooLayton, UT956 contributionsWe had a partial day in Atlanta before catching a plane at 2:00 p.m. so we decided to check out the Atlanta History Center. The Cyclorama display was very interesting. I remember visiting that as a kid in its old location where the chairs turned. I'm glad it was preserved. We really enjoyed the display about the Civil War. I thought it did a good job showing all sides of the conflict. We enjoyed the Smith Farm and the Swan House. Both have been very well preserved. It's fun to see a slice of different time periods, and think about what life might have been like then. We weren't able to get out to the Wood Cabin because of mud. Everything else was very walkable. I think we spent about three hours here and could have done more had the weather been more cooperative.Written March 24, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - nicoledianeAtlanta, GA728 contributionsWe took a guided walk to look at spring flowering trees as part of the 2 week Atlanta Science Festival. Our intent was to enjoy the walk and then wander around on our own. It was way, way too cold. Will have to go back. The 3 guides were interesting and it was a cold but sunny 1 hour tour. The cemetery is huge and very old. All of the trees and flowers make for a lovely outing. The mausoleums are interesting. There is even a visitor center with information and a good collection of gift items. It is in a trailer near the parking lot and main entrance.Written March 25, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LUKE1 contributionReview Of Hawks Basketball Game
Atlanta Hawks games are very interesting. For example, one time I went to a Hawks game, where I experienced many head-turning players, who exceeded the limits of their game. In addition, this game showed many many new techniques I could use on the court to improve my game.
Pros:
The Hawks game was very exciting to watch and can be watched by all ages.
Timeworthy experience where many players, such as Trae Young, showed off their talent.
The game showed me different ways to play the game. For example, a whole new perspective on how to blow past defenders and score a basket.
Very nice arena, where you can purchase food, drinks, and merchandise. Arena makes you feel comfortable and a lifetime experience feeling the energy throughout.
Got to walk on the court with my family, and truly feel what the players feel like.
Very polite employees that easily got us to our seats without missing the tipoff of the game.
Cons:
Tickets were expensive because the arena was so nice.
Merchandise is very high dollar. In addition, food and drinks are extremely overpriced.
Parking was an issue because the arena had no close parking available.
The game was pretty long, therefore you will be exhausted after.
Excessive fans cause disruption because fans can take things way too far.
Leaving the stadium was very stressful because everyone was trying to leave at the same time causing a huge crowd.
Even though the Atlanta Hawks games had many ups and downs, overall it was an astonishing experience because the arena’s atmosphere was packed with excitement, energy, and entertainment. I recommend visiting a Hawks game if you haven’t already because you never know the true excitement and outcome of the pleasurable experience. In conclusion, the ruling experience of the game was positive for my family and I because I got to understand a true once-in-a-lifetime experience throughout the game, arena, and overall experience.Written February 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. As well as the history of Dr Martin Luther King, Jr, there is also information about Rosa Parks and the Civil Rights Movement. The highlights of any visit, though, have to be the 'Eternal Flame' and the graves of Dr King and His wife, Coretta Scott King; a privilege to see.Written December 9, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - valliam13Sorrento, FL380 contributionsThis is a quick 15-30 minute stop but a very beautiful church. They have restored it to the time period when King was there. The park rangers were very knowledgeable about King and the church and answered our questions with pleasantness and ease. Worth it!!Written March 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- James HKnoxville, TN260 contributionsI have been here for several Atlanta United games. Great stadium with great food options (which are reasonably priced) and great atmosphere. My absolute favorite place to see a game. The whole family loves it.Written March 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Neil K1 contributionIntercontinental hotel in Buckhead has a true customer service star. His name is Jermaine. We met as he helped me retrieve a car. Warm, effective, professional. - Jada W3 contributionsWe really enjoyed our tour. Our tour guide was entertaining. We did not know a lot about Margaret Mitchell, so it was interesting to learn about her life. The gift shop is definitely worth a look too.Written November 4, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
