What travelers are saying
- Gilbas PivaLondon, UK48 contributionsNo matter how hard I try, I can't find the right words to truly capture the beauty of the Riserva Naturale dello Zingaro in Sicily. You’ll hear people describe it as breathtaking, amazing, incredible, or wonderful, but even those words fall short.
The drive to the reserve is an experience in itself, and if you opt for a boat tour, the scenery becomes even more striking. There are several hiking trails, both along the hills and close to the water, offering spectacular views.
If you love snorkeling, this is one of the most incredible spots in Europe to do it. Even if you don’t venture into deep waters or near the rocks, you can stay close to the beaches and find yourself surrounded by curious seabream, some swimming right up to your face.
I highly recommend going early in the morning and allowing yourself plenty of time to explore. Don’t forget to bring refreshments, as there’s no food available once you’re inside the reserve.Written September 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. As we were there in May, there was only one lido open near the beach bars but if you wanted a more natural experience, you could just walk down the beach a few meters to enjoy tranquility and swimming in clear water. The beach is round stones, and the water gets deep quickly, so not ideal for small children. I could also imagine it very crowded in the summer but at the end of May, perfect. Despite the proximity to the road, you don't notice it from the beach because the road runs along the cliff above.Written June 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bob zobManchester, UK12 contributionsGood secluded location. Nice little cove. Scopello was a bit disappointing in general not much to do. Of course beautiful tho. This beach was rocky but still nice.Written October 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Andre LMontreal, Canada1 contributionAn absolutely lovely part of my favorite destination: Sicily!
The people are wonderful. The cost of living is less than America. It is not a hub of tourists, which makes this place all the nicer. The weather is perfect. Go in the fall or spring if you can and experiment! You won’t regret it. Don’t pretend that you are in America. If you cannot adjust stay home.Written September 25, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. No English menu and hate having to go through a menu on the internet(but that’s just me being fussy) amazing pizza that you couldn’t fault.Written July 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - HollisBrookeBerlin, Germany620 contributionsI can imagine it would be a huge pain to visit here in the high season, but we came in May. You have to park about a five to ten minute walk away in a paid lot. The prices seem like they go up or down depending on if it’s the high season or not. The walk down to the sea is a bit steep but they’ve done a nice job making it accessible for pedestrians, eking out a nice trail for everyone to walk down.
My parents are in their late sixties and managed fine both ways. Our four year old had to be carried the way back, but that’s to be expected. This place by the sea is breathtaking but not so huge. There are free chairs but I’m sure they get taken up quickly in July and august. The bathrooms are nice and there is a small cafe.
It was a bit (a lot) cold to swim, in my opinion, but people were! My daughter enjoyed climbing on the rocks, so it wasn’t particularly relaxing for me as the sea there was quite choppy the day we were there. But I imagine with older kids or no kids that this would be really relaxing to read a book in a chair and sunbathe, or have an invigorating swim before heading back up to check out the town of Scopello.Written June 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. As many of the other reviewers have already written here, this is the location of the last scene of Ocean XII, when Brad Pitt and Catherine Zeta Jones meet Albert Finney aka Lemarque.
All the shades of blue, gree, turquoise combined with the terracota red of the walls of this special house, the rocks on the sea again...everything is perfectly in place for a memorable photo.
But should you pay for this photo 8 euro/pax, and another 5 or more for the parking fee outside?
Just for a picture?
Keep in mind that staying there won't be a treat as most of the time it is overcrowded.

- AlbertSalichsManresa, Spain23,873 contributionsPorto Di castellammare del Golfo is the port of this coastal town. It is a very nice port, where you can see very nice views of the sea, the coast, the mountains and the ships/boats. A place to walk, where there are some bars and restaurants. Very beautiful.Written November 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Dan MaarekTel Aviv, Israel16,512 contributionsOf course the view is fantastic, exceptional!
But is it really worth 8 euros per person and another 5 for the parking outside?
Staying there won't be that fun as most of the time it is overcrowded.
And the museum is really not worth it.
