- Elsa C. L.New York City, NY2,273 contributionsLBJ’s birthplace and his burial site had a path that symbolized his journey in his recent incarnation.
The ranch tour is a nice drive that at an elevated point has a panoramic view.
His US Air Force One is a small plane that made me wonder how he could have stood up in it while walking to his seat.
There is a field of yellow wildflowers to the left of his birthplace and an oak tree lined portion of the road by his grave.
There is no entrance fee.Written April 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our tour guide Donna was especially friendly and informative. I would recommend that anyone visits. FYI- ration the feed. We had four large buckets and was out before the end of the safari.Written March 18, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sally PFlaunden, UK86 contributionsPerfect way to spend a few hours keeping 2 children busy exploring. We loved the falls itself- lots of rocks to walk and climb across.Written March 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GoingonroadThe Cincinnati Region41 contributionsAfter visiting the Texas White House, travelled on over to Johnson City to visit the Boyhood Home. Nice visitor center and nice tour by the rangers. Recommend for anyone wanting to learn the history of that time frame.Written March 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GeneralShamuNew York City, NY1,016 contributionsIf only this were open, how exciting it'd be to see it rom the inside. There is a pool in the back so walk around to that side to get a nice picture of the home.Written May 21, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Scott MStephenville, TX25 contributionsThis store has nothing but handmade/created pieces of art from fellow Texans. The prices can be rather high but everything is beautifully made. The lady running the store was very sweet and full of knowledge.Written February 18, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Laura K4 contributionsSpecial shout out to Suzie for making our trip so special. She was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable! We drove down from Austin for the day to enjoy a wine tasting. Untamed has a really nice atmosphere on large grounds. We got wonderful service and guidance from Suzie who let my husband know about the oysters flown in from Nantucket. He was thrilled. I enjoyed a very yummy burrata appetizer and a delicious pizza. We both enjoyed drinking the reserved flight of wine as it’s nice to try a few different varieties. The owners were there on site working as well
And also came over to check in and make sure we were enjoying ourselves. I can’t wait to go back!Written April 24, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You can bring your own food but we choose to bring some birthday cake and buy the charcuterie board (which was pretty good) before doing the tastings.
The grounds are beautiful and it was very quiet on the Sunday afternoon when we visited.
The tastings were reasonably priced, educational and interesting as we learned a lot about various wines and how they are made.Written November 12, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Shows both 2D and 3D works, often thematically related to the Texas Hill Country. The space is eclectic and interesting. Check it out--you'll see what I mean!
The owner is also an artist, whose own beautiful work can be seen at the gallery.
Carries many award-winning regional artists. Highly recommended, well worth a visit! (And go to an opening if you are able, when you can also sample some tasty snacks and drink some good, local wines.)Written July 31, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was my first experience at their new location. It was a perfect day. As always all of the wine is masterfully crafted by Allan and Margaret. The tasting room had 360 degree views due to all the “clear as glass” windows.
In addition to tasting unique, award winning wines and snacks, we met Whitney our server. Whitney was totally enjoyable. She described the wines perfectly and coached us on “what to look for” in each sip. She nailed the nuances of tastes each variety of wine afforded us.
It was a great experience. We learned a lot. We were there for quite a while. It was a memorable time of celebration, fun and outstanding wine, food and service.
Thank you “Westcave Cellars” & our new friend Whitney. We are eager to come again with our husbands. (And we are eager to try the beer as well!!!!)

It's clean, smells great, has a great selection of cool stuff and their prices beat the heck out of the other stores in the surrounding areas! Don't be fooled by the small storefront, it's very large and deep and features over 30 vendors!Written November 17, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Debi W6 contributionsWe love this winery! It’s our favorite and we’ve been to many. The wine is fabulous and the people working there are so friendly! You definitely know you’re in Texas! - Dave SAustin, TX10 contributionsAbout a 1 hour drive from Austin, it was worth going one time. The Blanco Court House is nice, but the Pedernales Electric display is not to be missed. We went on Jan 1, so a lot of the activity pre-Christmas (carolers, Santa, Grinch, fireworks, etc) was not there.
Dining options are very limited. We ate at the Proof and Cooper where the brisket was dried out and lacked flavor. The only mobile food trailer was a 4H fundraiser with coffee, hot chocolate and hot cider.
Bottomline, go for the lights, spend about an hour looking at the 3 main displays and then drive to a restaurant.Written January 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our tasting visit was informative, with the exception of a braggart customer sharing the explanations, which is out of the control of winery staff. Staff was patient and articulate. I do feel their tasting room and gift shop could use a facelift.Written August 30, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
