- dennis Kelly5 contributionsWe are members, so go every few months on nice days when we know it won't be too busy. With a dozen 'world-class' displays, any of which would be a major draw in a regular zoo, there is frankly not enough time in a full day to do justice to all of it. Based on weather, we select our favorites. Frankly, the Lied Jungle is simply awe-inspiring Wandering through the beauty with animals all about and even flying overhead. When they feed the hundreds of bats each afternoon, it is just amazing (if you like bats!). Be prepared to hike long distances but don't miss the new Orangutan habitat or the redesigned Gorilla areas. The elephants, with five young ones born in the past two years, are a huge draw, as is the sea lions. Yes, it is a hefty ticket to take the whole family, but when I meet folks from other states, they are always in amazement of the place.Written November 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DreamAndDiscoverOakland, CA104 contributionsSuper cool museum. I learned so much about early settlers of Omaha to present day. Beautifully designed in art deco style former train station. We really enjoyed the layout and learnings!Written January 26, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Bhushan TimlaKathmandu Valley, Nepal256 contributionsThis pedestrian bridge stretches across the Missouri River, connection the Omaha and Iowa states.
Only pedestrians and bikes are allowed and it is a great experience to cross the bridge from where we can enjoy excellent views of the Omaha skyline. We visited here two times, on a sunny day and in a nice scenic evening.
A visit to Omaha must include a walk across the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, it looks truly spectacular with beautiful lighting in evening. At the bottom side, we took the river trail for ½ mile south along to the large “Labor” monument featuring water lines, beach areas with lot of recreational activities for the public of all ages.Written December 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The indoor areas are being renovated, so we hit the outdoor gardens. Very beutiful. We only saw one Hummingbird, briefly, but really enjoyed the Latvian garden and the trains. There are a lot of places to stop and relax, with games you can play. It took several hours to get through.Written July 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Paul M1 contributionI don't know a ton about art but the collection here is of high quality with a broad variety of styles. The original building fits the older collection well. The new wing is a completely different architectural style, but it seems to fit the collection and the landscape. Best free museum experience I've ever been to.Written January 25, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- NemoTravelerAarhus, Denmark913 contributionsThe First National Parks are located around several blocks in downtown Omaha. The Pioneer Courage Park with a wagon train heading west is situated at Capitol and 14th – 15th Streets and is linked to The Spirit of Nebraska’s Wilderness at Dodge and 16th Street. The latter actually continues inside the First National Bank Tower Winter Garden Atrium.
The parks are linked by some great bison sculptures along 15th Street and the entire area forms a very impressive sculpture park with several impressive bronze and stainless steel sculptures. It is possible to walk around and enjoy the beautiful artwork for free and this is definitely a must-see in Omaha.Written September 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ginger R24 contributionsA good children's museum. Lots of different areas for different age/stage/interest levels. As with all kids museums, earplugs should be an option for unsuspecting adults! Definitely worth going to with kids of many ages....ours are 3 & 8 and we spent several hours there. Fun watching older ones help young ones; kids creating something from their own building skills; interacting with others as they immerse themselves in a castle, a restaurant or a store; discover new science options in motion and see themselves as an animated robot they created. Good fun.Written October 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- kingbk08Orange County, CA7 contributionsThis park needed an update. It was turning into a place for the homeless to hang out and there was a lot of trash everywhere. They did a nice job updating it and putting a new coat of paint on, so to speak. A lot of nice attractions now, and the trademark slides are still there!
I'm a little worried that with time, it will become a place for the homeless to hang out once again and trash might start to pile up. It seems it's already slowly going in that direction. Also, many of the new attractions seem they were built on the cheap. Many hammocks are already broken, the new monitors are gone and other new things have either fallen apart or are under repair.
I'll be curious what this looks like in another 2 years.Written February 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Admission into the park was free, which is always a plus. We walked up several flights of stairs, and up a small ramp in order to reach the trains. There were informational plaques located alongside the ramp, that detailed the history of trains in Omaha and the backstory of the trains we were about to view. Located at the top of the ramp were two locomotives. We were not able to go inside either of them, and only viewed them from the outside. The trains overlooked a highway and a body of water.
Tip: I recommend spending 15 minutes here if you truly want to see everything.Written November 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
