What travelers are saying
- Rob LBrisbane, Australia96 contributionsWe were not going to go to this but in the end decided we would and we were glad we did. Great variety of floats and community organisations. The streets were not too crowded and the children with us, including a two year old, had no problem seeing the action. Only slight criticism was that the parade was late in starting and was very slow at first, and hence ran late. Better marshalling of floats would perhaps produce a more even spacing and flow. Overall a great eveningWritten August 1, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- SharonB231Toledo, OH1,138 contributionsVariety of food vendors and live music. A fun annual event where tourists and locals mingle. Nice variety of vendors in large park area.Written August 16, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- pkpdbacationRichland, WA263 contributionsWe drove over for this event after my wife heard about it. Worth it at least once. Beautiful, quality lights set-up. Great picture opportunities, lots to see, ice skating looked fun. A little crowded and a bit expensive are the drawbacks. Glad we tried it. My wife loved it and my daughters thought it was nice. Worth a visit at least once.Written December 26, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- redhead_roamingSeattle, WA2,574 contributionsMy husband and I have went the past two years. Last years was logistically a nightmare but the year prior was great. I'm hoping they're learning from their mistakes and making it continuously better. Long wait aside, it's beautiful to look at and I admire so much of what is done. It's never something we intentionally go and see but always something we decide to do once we're downtown.Written April 4, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - YessyharaVenice, FL2,388 contributionsGood festival with a lot of food booths. Lots of different Asian food choices and some vendors. Not a lot of tables for eating and they were covered with old food, all but one in full sun. The stage had several shows. Not easy to get a seat in the shade and lots of people stay for several shows so arriving early to see what you want still may not work. My favorite was the Chinese yo-yos, a real crowd pleaser.Written July 1, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RoseCityTraveler626SeaTac, WA131 contributionsAnnually, in mid-August, Pike Place Market Foundation brings together 100+ of the region’s best restaurants, wineries, breweries, and distilleries for "Sunset Supper at Pike Place Market." It's a celebration of local food and drinks in Seattle’s historic Market. Buy a general admission ticket, or a table, and enjoy the live music, great food, and fun -- all while supporting a great cause.Written August 18, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - textractorSan Francisco, CA37 contributionsI was at Bumbershoot 2019, the first time since a couple of times about 30 years ago. Something happened to this festival in the intervening years, and it wasn't good. Instead of offering something for teeny boppers, blues fans, some folk rock, some long-established artists along with the sprang-up-last-week-on-youtube ones, it's seeming like just a mostly teeny-bopper fest. I don't care if they like to underdress, or that their energy is all over the place, after all, they're people too. But so are the rest of us.
Let's make it a little more diverse.
Oh, and do warn the people brining their little children to the stand-up comedy (which was a highlight, btw) that it's very raunchy.
One last thing, Bumbershoot folks: If you're going to offer VIP tickets (which we paid for), please treat the VIPs like VIPs everywhere, not just in a couple of spots. One of those spots (Fisher Green stage) seemed like an afterthought, btw.Written September 3, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
