Vidova Gora on the island of Brač is, with an altitude of 780 metres, is the highest mountain of the Adriatic archipelago. Its south side descends steeply towards the village of Bol while the northern side is a mild plateau with gentle trails.

It was the perfect place for a walk surrounded by aromatic vegetation and pine forests. My husband took the opportunity to snap close-up pictures of the surrounding vegetation. I read that the path from Bol to Vidova Gora is a demanding hiking trail.

We choose to drive and it was easy to reach by car via a well-developed road. From the parking lot it took about 10 minutes (relatively steep) to the viewpoint.

You should definitely come here, it's the best view of the Golden Horn. If you are on the beach itself it is less spectacular. At the top of there is a 12-metre high cross made from white Brač stone and a resting point with a view over Zlatni Rat beach in Bol but also to the Italian coast on the other side of the Adriatic.

The view that can be enjoyed from here is truly incredible. We were lucky that the day was clear, but we could see all the surrounding islands - Hvar above all - the Dalmatian coast and, obviously, Zlatni Rat beach.

The panorama from Vidova Gora is something not to be missed when visiting the island of Brac. Y can see the low bays of Brac, and across the northern side of the island of Hvar, the Pelješac peninsula, Korcula and Vis. I read that on particularly clear days you can see Monte Gargano on the Apennine peninsula.

Great Tour of the cute “museum” in a sweet village. The tour guide was the owner’s cousin and he was great! We did the upgraded olive oil tasting which was delicious with bread , oil, tomatoes, jams, wine, cheese and prosciutto. Of course we bought some oil before leaving ! Recommend for a different kind of visit and the tasting was our lunch!

I visited this place because of all the beautiful photos on the internet. As for the surroundings, it's really beautiful there. It definitely looks nicer from a bird's eye view. In my opinion, a bit overrated place. Lots of people and for me it's hard to rest there. To see - yes, to be there longer - no.

Very worthwhile. Bring water. Wear sturdy footwear. No sandals or flip-flops. Easy hike down, but arduous in parts going up. The museum is fascinating.

Went here for some wine tasting in the evening. The winery is in the city centre with aome outaide seating as well as indoor one. The winery itself is beautiful, alll in stone, with tours available daily.
Service was very good during our time there and we managed to try multiple white and red wines. We also tried their amazing olive oil and some solid prosciutto and great local cheese.
    Definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful little village on the Croatia island of Brac. We were there on May 12 and were disappointed to find all the shops were closed due to it being a Sunday! 😢 Tip: Dont visit on a Sunday…also it was still early in their tourist season, so some of the hotels were not yet open.

Luckily, we had our bathing suits, so we got into the water a bit. (MUST HAVE WATER SHOWS…Rocky beaches with some sea urchins ).

We had a lovely lunch and made our way back to Split on the ferry.

What a phenomenal evening! We arrived at a beautiful traditional house with stunning gardens just as the sun began to set.
We sat in a romantic vine covered corner and for the next 5 hours enjoyed what seemed like endless courses of out of this world food, accompanied by all their own wines.
The host started with a traditional way of opening a bottle of their sparkling wine which made for great entertainment :)

Each course of food and wine was lovingly presented and explained to us by the husband and wife team who are clearly so passionate about what they do. In particular the history behind the vineyard and the family made it all the more personal.

This place is extremely special, the setting, the ambience, the hosting but most of all the food and drink! And incredible value for money! We enjoy taster menus regularly, including Michelin starred restaurants all over the world and I can honestly say this is one our favourite to date! It wont belong before this gets a star for sure!
We visit Croatia each year and this is definitely on our regular list!

The only small criticism I have is that it does not offer a vegetarian option, as we wanted to go with some other guests. But once we arrived there it was obvious they couldn't cater, as apposed to not wanting to cater, for vegetarians due to the small team! I am sure once they move to their larger venue they will be able to offer for other diet preferences :)

Beautiful and secluded beach with clear water, great for snorkeling and relaxing. There were few people when we went in September.
We took a taxi from Bol to Murvica and walked back (the way back is predominantly downhill, so I believe it would have been quite tiring if we had walked the way up there too).
There is only one bar before the steep path to the beach that only accepts cash.

If you walk past Dalmatino restaurant and continue past the boatyard in Sumartin you will find 3 small and absolutely stunning little beaches of small pebbles. There are steps down to these beaches and one is divided by a stone jetty. Here the water is so clear and a delicate pale blue colour, clearer than what are otherwise quite nice beaches in Makarska. We had a little beach all to ourselves, there was no need to wear beach shoes as the pebbles were so small, and the water was a nice temperature.Sheer paradise for an hour!

Interesting operation with the entire family involved in some sort of art. Sculpture, jewelry, and painting. The lady that leads the operation has interesting stories of the family’s tribulations in maintaining their artistic life style . Located in a pretty little village.

Great hike! Start early as it can get really hot later in the day…
We brought our kids (8 year old boy and 6 year old girl), we were concerned they wouldn’t make it but Zoran was really patient and helped us keep it interesting and fun for them!
Bring about 750ml of water per person, hiking shoes, hiking poles (if you have an injury), sunscreen and a hat.
It is easy to slip on the way down, stay focused and in the middle of the trail!
