A friend recommended Studio Be to me and I am soooo thankful I was able to visit. What a beautiful & affordable exhibit! I was honestly blown away by the abstract art and incredible detail, especially from someone determined to get as much of the black experience in New Orleans as possible.

Also super thankful to the staff who allowed me to come after several emails when the booking site initially had the dates of my trip blocked off for filming.

    Y'all have got to go!

To think we almost missed this gem! We walked into a grocery store and commented on a cool sign over the register. The owner said, “Oh, that’s Dr. Bob’s. His gallery is around the corner. You should check it out”. It was such an experience. Dr. Bob even smiled for a picture…he’s not much of a smiler!

Craig Tracy is an impeccable arttist. Each work is so unique and beautiful. He is frequently there to talk, and the prices are very reasonable. There are different sizes and shapes, to please everyone. We own several.

We vacationed in New Orleans for a week and a visit (strolling along Royal Street) to this art gallery was a highlight of our trip. The art work is very unique and charming. Carol
Siekkinen, the owner, is so lovely, friendly and kind; she even had a box of tissues on hand (for visitors, like me, who were so moved, got "emotional"). Readers take note: do yourselves a favor and place this inspirational art gallery high on your 'Things I must do in New Orleans' list!

George Rodrigue Studios on Royal Street is great. If you are not familiar with his work, look it up. I have a couple of his artworks and if you want to see more, visit the Blue Dog Café in Lafayette, LA, awesome food and you see all his original works of the walls of the café.

I am not by any means an “art person”, but I was in awe by the beauty of these pieces. The way the light interacted with the paintings and the almost 3D effect had me mesmerized. Claudia was so kind and educated on all the pieces, and was a pleasure to speak with.

This is a great gallery to visit in the New Orleans Art district. The staff are friendly and very low key. You can stroll around the gallery and take your time. There are usually several artists presented so you have some variety to view. If you like to go to galleries you will like this one.

I had no idea about this place! It was raining and cold so spur of the moment we jumped inside to get warm and enjoy the art. It was so exciting to see works from famous artists. No lines and you could get so close to the works of art. Everything from Picasso to Rembrandt! What a fabulous find. Highly suggest checking this place out. Curator was very personable and even came up and asked if we had any questions. I wanted pictures, but I was afraid to do it. Lol

So, the Wife & I were in NOLA for my 50th in September of 2017. My Sister lives & works in NOLA & suggested we stop by here while we were all on the way to something else one night during the trip. More than a YEAR later, I still think about the insane quality of the still, captured drama of several of his giant works hanging on the wall. They had a little bar with wine in the back of the studio the night we went & we wound up talking with some really cool people as we waltzed around the studio. Just an overall fantastic experience & can't wait to go back to see that Artwork in person again. Awe inspiring.

We were wondering on our way to another shop, but were captivated by the artwork and jewelry in the windows of Sutton Galleries! Truth be told, we were taken by many high quality jewelry pieces and did not give the gallery its fair share of our time. Ryan, the salesperson, was fun and professional, and helped us narrow down our jewelry selection (It was hard to choose just one). We come to New Orleans annually so we will be back!

Strolling around French Quarter on a beautiful Friday afternoon, we came across the Modernist Cuisine Gallery. Nathan Myhrvold is one the best innovators of our time. In the chapter of photography he will blow your mind. Mastering the creation of specific momentum in one of favorites things in life; Food!

With the help of Mark, this sophisticated gallery, will enlighten you with technique, visually stunned you ... & if you want a serving, get there quick.

I visit Bambi's ever NO trip. It is easy to find (right behind church on Royal Street). It's upstairs and away from foot traffic. The 2 rooms are filled with goodies--vintage Japanese silk gowns; estate jewelry; costumes; coats. You will love this place, really.

This was my FAVORITE gallery on Dirty Linen Night.

For starters, I LOVE any type of art that has a spooky twist. It has nothing to do with Halloween: I'm a year round, spooky decor type of person. The art here is right up my alley: leafless trees silhouetted against a dark, or dimly lit sky, moss hanging off of cypress trees in the shadows. The paintings make you feel as if you're looking out of a window onto a swampy scene at midnight.

There was one piece that I particularly loved of shadowy trees against a red background. The forest seemed to call for you to come explore. In a perfect world I would have endless walls on which to hang all of the art that I covet. Until then, I'll have to make due with admiring these lovely works at Tanner Gallery.
