- SallyD007Wokingham, UK37 contributionsWith only a short time in New Orleans we thought this would be a great tour to learn more about the local food and to get some ideas on where to eat and what to eat whilst we are here, and we were right. Susan, our tour guide, was really informative and as we moved around to different locations we got the opportunity to try a variety of different things. At each location Susan gave us background and insights into the food we were trying and I definitely learnt quite a lot. The tour was around 3 hours and we certainly weren’t hungry by the end of it. The selection of food was great, and the hot sauce store was definitely my favourite stop—sampling the different varieties was a highlight. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and we had more than enough food to last the day. Plus, since it was our first day in the city, the tour really helped us get our bearings. We had chargrilled oysters, muffuletta, praline, gumbo and banana foster beignet (last one was my favorite!), had a great conversation about culture and different experience of the guests joining the group. I really enjoyed trying out best food that french quarter has to offer and enjoyed meeting new people! Def worth the money! I could have listened to him talk about the area and food for the entire day! Def going to return and take a longer food tour. She took us to places in a million years we would never have seen and she seems to know one or two people on every block in the French Quarter. The food was great and she is filled with stories about the City. Also if you are lucky she’ll tell you her family connections to the Gods of early R&B and Rock & Roll. Tour was a home run. - Michele E1 contributionDominick was a fantastic tour guide- a true Southern gentleman so proud and knowledgeable about NOLA. Having never taken a private dining tour, I was unsure what to expect. Dominick selected two restaurants(Tableau and The Napolean House) and advised us to selections. All his food recommendations were first-rate, and he even encouraged me ( not typically brave when trying new things) to get out of my comfort zone! I found myself eating seafood, which I always shy away from, and alligator! I cannot speak highly enough of this experience and only wish it had been my first tour instead of one of the last so I could have asked for other restaurant recommendations. Dominick shares his love of NOLA with you and you find yourself just wanting to walk the city with him to hear his stories. - L SNew Orleans, LA7 contributionsWe had a wonderful time with Leanne. She is fun and energetic and offered several times to help with recommendations since it was our first time visiting. All the food was awesome and she gave us a great introduction to the neighborhoods. Praline cream filled beignets. Yum. It looks like we will be coming back next year to spend more time in the areas she took us to. I would highly recommend Leanne and will look at her other tours for next time.
