- nicolelrockNew Orleans, LA3 contributionsI loved The Sweat Social's Running Tour through the French Quarter. The tour guide was so knowledgable and made learning fun. The group size was perfect - small enough to feel intimate but enough people to make a few new friends along the way!Written June 5, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - psbmoreBaltimore, MD80 contributionsWhat a cool place and Amy is such a talented instructor! I did a girls weekend with my cousins October 2023, visiting New Orleans for the first time and we took a shot at the intro to Pole level 1 class. Amy was our AMAZING instructor, she was sweet and funny and went around and helped each individual person and made you feel comfortable in trying something new. The 1.5hr class was plenty of time to learn and practice a few moves, it also peaked my interest enough to look into some classes in my hometown in the future. The class itself was a mix of people taking their first class and what seemed like maybe their 2nd or 3rd class as they had a grip on some of the basics more than people like me trying for the first time. Also a large mix of ages and athletic ability.
I recommend getting to the class early to start stretching, someone showed up to the class 35 minutes late and was turned away. I felt a little bad for the girl BUT was 100% in agreement with the studio for doing so as the start of the class includes warm up which is VERY necessary to help prevent any injuries plus the instructor would have had to spend extra time catching that person up with the routine which would have taken away from everyone else who showed up on time. So don’t be late, because the class is SO worth it and you will want to use every minute you have with the lovely Amy. If I’m back in New Orleans I will certainly be coming back.Written October 25, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. If you expect your clients to give an advance termination notice, why don't you have it in writing or at least speak up? Don't have an assumption your clients are going to know everything about the PT world just because you do. And if you know your occupation is financially volatile, why are you so surprised to begin with? Again, this goes back to the "have it in writing" philosophy if you actually understand what that means. This is how I see it: if your client emails you and says they will speak to the trainer themselves and then you don't respond further, it's pretty clear that's the direction your client's going to take and you respected their wishes. Going behind their back (which you did) and stating it wasn't intentional (even though it was...words don't just accidentally spew out of our mouths) is a whole other story. And it doesn't matter when your clients speak up as long as they speak up. Furthermore, was it really necessary to send a long, obnoxious email calling your former client "inconsiderate," and then apologizing, but towards the end, turn the table around again and state you don't feel bad about your actions? Seriously, personal training should be about the training. Unfortunately, you decided to make it your personal conquest to be right instead of just being professional. I seriously question this person's integrity as a business owner and a so-called life coach because if you're sending out these emails, then you need to reevaluate your qualifications.Written January 8, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
