... with such great appreciation for the beauty, rich culture and of coarse lots of knowledge of all the bars my son will be visiting ; ) (thanks Ashton) All kidding a-side, Ashton, was so awesome and informative.
He is an extremely knowledgeable guide who has a knack for relaying historical facts on a very personal, relatable level, whether enlightening his guests about local landmarks, monuments, homes, bars or restaurants.

We tried some pralines too but I wasn't a big fan of those then it was on to Pimms & briskets at Tujage's which was 160+ year old bar!

#7 of 242 Nightlife in New Orleans
Joe was fabulous tour guide...! You get the inside look at some of the oldest French Quarter Bars and their History... Most stops were High End Old School French Quarter.
A wedding in the larger courtyard kept us confined to the inside bar, but my back appreciated the chance to snuggle up on some great leather seating choices and take in the wine cork collections and the colored li...
Fritzel's European Jazz Bar
#8 of 242 Nightlife in New Orleans
This place is great, small but cozy and the music is amazing!! Easy to say that from all the jazz clubs in New Orleans this one is definitely worth a visit.
This small bar and jazz venue is one of the best places you can stop by in the French Quarter -- as good an experience as Preservation Hall or the clubs on Frenchman Street.
Bourbon O
#9 of 242 Nightlife in New Orleans
Cheryl's knowledge about the history of cocktails makes for great conversation and truly adds to the ambiance of this fantastic bar.
Yes, the ambiance at the bar is great, the music is great, the bartenders are great, and the people are great, but we go for the Ramos Gin Fizz.

The Jazz Playhouse
#11 of 242 Nightlife in New Orleans
Great music, dancing, opulent bar, magical courtyard to unwind and a small intimate private club ambiance!
We reserved seats for a Monday night show; band was outstanding; drinks and bar food was very good; they have different types of entertainment so you can go more than once and have a different experience each time.
BMC Balcony Music Club
#12 of 242 Nightlife in New Orleans
The music is excellent and it is one block from Frenchmen Street where there are two blocks of Jazz, Blues & other music clubs, with some having very good dinning.
Some nice cocktails on the menu and just a really cool bar we really enjoyed on our way from jacksons square to Frenchman street
Pub Crawl New Orleans
#13 of 242 Nightlife in New Orleans
The hosts/guides are a lot of fun and knowledgeable, and make sure that everyone gets acquainted and makes it from the first bar to the last.
It was our first bar crawl and our first night in New Orleans and it didn’t disappoint.
Erin Rose
#15 of 242 Nightlife in New Orleans
Dive Irish bar where you have to try their signature Irish coffee but the real gem in this place is the kitchen in the rear go back and order every poboy they have because they are all outstanding.
To celebrate a stranger's birthday, we were each given a sparkler to flash right outside the bar and sing Happy Birthday - great silly fun!
Maison Bourbon Jazz Club
#16 of 242 Nightlife in New Orleans
We know there are a lot of places to listen to some great music, but when we return to NOLA in March, we're already planning our fun around Maison Bourbon Jazz Club.
This club is on the corner of Bourbon St and St Peters, a wonderful venue with amazing talent.
The Funky Pirate Blues Club
#18 of 242 Nightlife in New Orleans
Blues and Bar scene and if you really want to hear some Classic Blues by and even Classic-er(is that a word?) performer you must see Willie and his guys play.
This is one fun bar especially if Big Al is singing and you got to try all the fancy drinks, like the Hangernade and many more.
Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar
#22 of 242 Nightlife in New Orleans
Great place to have drinks before making your way into the nightlife of Bourbon st.
This is a must see for history lovers as its the original Blacksmiths of Mayor Lafitte so real USA history and its really well preserved even if they have turned it into a bar these days.

The Grenade is the signature drink for the Tropical Isle Bars in NOLA! Delicious!
Carousel Piano Bar & Lounge
#25 of 242 Nightlife in New Orleans
The unique revolving carousel that the bar takes it's name from is charming, but the whole feel of the bar is a swanky cozy return to jazz elegance.
Loved this taste of luxury for (a) the cocktails and (b) the people watching in this well heeled busy bar.

House Of Blues
#28 of 242 Nightlife in New Orleans
When in New Orleans it’s a must to visit Bourbon Street and Decauter Street - that’s where nearly all of the main restaurants and bars are and The House of Blues is one of the main hot-spots.
Enjoyed some live music beforehand within the restaurant/bar area beforehand as well.
Pat O'Brien's
#29 of 242 Nightlife in New Orleans
Amazing bar, walk in front door and go to the left and you are in a more traditional style bar, go to the right and you are in a huge dueling piano room and go straight through and you are in a nice outdoor patio...
You pay a bit more for partaking in the piano bar and a tad more than that for the courtyard, but honestly, we felt the courtyard was well worth it - especially at night - the foliage and fountain were quite roman...

The entertainment: the band pays attention to who's in the crowd, and they play YOU! Bar tenders are attentive and fun.
Numerous bars to choose from in Bourbon Street but this one is by far the most diverse in the types of music.

Tropical Isle Bayou Club
#35 of 242 Nightlife in New Orleans
If you enjoy cajun/zydeco or just love toe-tapping, foot-stomping music in a small venue, make sure you stop at Tropical Isles Bayou Club in the French Quarter of New Orleans!
My husband and I were in New Orleans for a week and the Bayou Club was our favorite bar to go to on Bourbon Street.

Every member of staff- hosts, security, cleaners and bar staff- are super friendly and really get into the spirit of things, dancing and singing along with the customers.
It's a karaoke bar with a host that sings and encourages the performers and gets people up on stage and dancing.
