What travelers are saying
- Laura RChicago, IL35 contributionsExcellent music, nice crowd, easygoing atmosphere. Felt very comfortable going on my own on a Sunday afternoon. Really quality music.Written November 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Doug B2 contributionsFirst time here and basically just walked in from the street. We sat at the bar and had a drink while watching the band play for about 45 minutes (they were already playing when we walked in). It is a small venue, but we found it very entertaining, with great music, great interaction with the band, who the crowd sits very close to the stage/platform in a 180. They pass the hat at the end of the show (since you walk in for free) and we gladly tipped. Great experience.Written October 23, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Joebob747Neenah, WI358 contributionsSmall building but some interesting exhibits. They have talks and demos throughout the day. Not sure when construction will be done on the primary location.Written April 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - cornbread35Gorham, ME223 contributionsMy wife and I lurched tickets to see Jazz-a-holics. They were awesome. Seats were comfortable. Service attentive. Good drinks. We liked that we were able to reserve seats. The previous couple of evenings we were not able to find decent seats at different clubs.Written November 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ToesnSand23Playa del Carmen, Mexico22 contributionsI had the best evening at this bar! The drinks are some of the best in the city. The bartender took so much care making our Sazeracs. Such wonderful detail to her craft. Along with the excellent drinks, there was a top shelf jazz band playing. Some immense talent filled the stage. I had a smile the whole time I was at Maison Bourbon. Make it a stop on your visit!Written April 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - recorderPineville, MO1,813 contributionsWe did both, we ate there and we watched the music show. Both were very worthwhile. The group playing was joined by a special guest, who we recognized as having played Tommy Johnson in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" And the closed their set with a spiritual number, "I'll Fly Away" written by our county's own Albert Brumley.Written October 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - melcat91110 contributionsWe dropped in for a bit to watch the Jump Hounds. Very entertaining band - try to catch them if you can. The bar set up is okay and allows for a good view of the stage anywhere. But there are only a new tables and chairs so most of the audience is standing by the bar. The two doors are open to the street so you can probably watch from there, too. Just make sure you grab a drink.Written December 18, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- nickswlonTeddington, UK468 contributionsThis is the place to go for an authentic jazz evening. The staff were lovely and the music was so laid back and (when I was there) trad. My top tip is to get there just before 8pm to get a good seat or table and you’re set for the evening. They don’t do food so eat elsewhere beforehand. And then just chill.Written November 4, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- lil_mEdmonton, Canada53 contributionsWe found our brick on the renovated back patio! This is our second visit to the Leaf. Love the atmosphere, the staff and the live music. Although we did not stay for the live music this time around (okay maybe 2 songs) it is a mainly standing room venue (benches line the walls on either side of the long room), the sound is great and the cover if applicable is a bargain. Clean washrooms. We made our way here on the St.Charles streetcar with a stop to Magazine street and the skeleton house. We will be back, as Canadians the name is what originally drew us to this place and so glad we discovered it.Written November 12, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Plenty of room to dance.Written March 2, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Alinda WDell Rapids, SD76 contributionsSweet Lorraine's was a suggestion from our uber driver and he was right, it was a great choice. The music was great, even though there was a cover charge that we were not aware of going in, it was just added to our bill at the end of the night. The food was perfect although it came out slowly, we were in no hurry so we didn't care.Written April 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BogiLeeds, UK88 contributionsLittle dive bar with a local feel, felt a little conscious of being there as a tourist but still enjoyed an awesome night out watching Soul Rebels brass band who were amazing.Written November 26, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Des1963Johannesburg, South Africa1,706 contributionsA friend and I went to the New Orleans Jazz Market, where I was the only person who was not local. This is a contemporary performing arts venue and jazz community centre for people of all ages. It has a theatre, full size bars, meeting rooms and interactive learning spaces. Local musician, Irvin Mayfield, a Grammy and Billboard-award winning Jazz musician with 25 albums to his name founded the centre. They had their regular Wednesday night jam sessions, where local musicians perform. I thoroughly enjoyed it and saw some of the musicians on the stages of the Jazz and Heritage Festival over the next couple of days. This city is just filled with the most amazing music and unbelievable talent.Written July 28, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
