Webb Military Museum
#1 of 46 Museums in Savannah
I have visited many military museums across the country, including the 8th Air Force (great) and many Civil War collections, but for some reason, I really like this small, compact but excellent collection.
What made this different than many other museums is the personal stories shared through letters that are framed within most of the displays.
Pin Point Heritage Museum
#2 of 46 Museums in Savannah
This is one of the lesser-known Coastal Heritage Society museums in Savannah, but definitely one that I highly recommend for both visitors and Savannah natives to visit.
This is a wonderfully rich little museum with passionate guides, and excellent displays all rich in history, located on the marshes of Moon River with a view of where Johnny Mercer lived.
Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum Inc.
#3 of 46 Museums in Savannah
There aren’t many museums of this kind that I’m aware of and I personally think everyone in this country should be exposing themselves and their children to this history.
The history of this place is incredible, and most of the museum is focused on local events which took place in Savannah in the 60's and it was truly eye-opening and an important piece of history to learn about.
American Prohibition Museum
#4 of 46 Museums in Savannah
Obviously museums are educational, but the prohibition museum just seemed to have a little bit more education thrown into it, definitely a lot more than was talked about in my history classes.
My spouse and I often visit museums when we go on vacation.

Old Fort Jackson
#5 of 46 Museums in Savannah
This place is a few miles out of Savanna’s historic district but it worth your visit (you can purchase a 2-day 3-attractions ticket for this place which includes also the train and children museums).
We toured the fort during the free museum Sunday and Justin was there to answer questions and give a history lesson while dressed as a union soldier.
Owens-Thomas House & Slave Quarters
#6 of 46 Museums in Savannah
... pieces and so many beautiful architectural details! Go visit if you want to learn Savannah history, enjoy beautiful period architecture and design, as well as get to explore two special art museums in town.
Your entrance fee of $19.00 gets you the Owens Thomas House tour, Telfair museum, and the fine arts museum (both museums are quite far away from the Owens Thomas House).

I've been to many museums in Savannah but this one has been the most inclusive of Savannahs historical happenings.
The museum is interactive which is perfect for little kids but it has so much history covering a wide variety of topics which is great for the adults.

Savannah History Museum
#10 of 46 Museums in Savannah
My wife and I have visited a lot of museums in our travels, from San Francisco to Salt Lake City to Denver to Chicago to Atlanta to Washington DC to New York to Boston and a lot of places in between.
We always try to visit museums of the place we're visiting to learn a bit of the history.
Telfair Academy
#11 of 46 Museums in Savannah
The exhibits are wonderful and expertly crafted with emphasis on southern American artists and female artists, something often hard to find in many large museums.
This is one of those museums I can visit each time I go to Savannah and always enjoy - I can always see something new since there are always good temporary exhibits.

Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum
#12 of 46 Museums in Savannah
This is a small museum that is located near some other small museums (railroad, history); all of which are wonderful.
I will be back but I say "Keep up the good work!" and honestly you could give many larger and greater funded maritime museums a run for their money - you do far better!
