- CrosscollectorColumbia, SC25 contributionsMs. Marcia is an excellent tour guide. I love her accent, and personality. She is very knowledgeable about the history of the house and the Shriver family. Very enjoyable and entertaining tour. I highly recommend it.Written May 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- sara h5 contributionsWe ate at the tavern. Very busy place with 45 minute wait. It was worth the wait! Food was excellent and the service friendly and helpful with suggestions or needs.Written May 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jennifer Z13 contributionsGreat atmosphere, fantastic wine selection and the staff are wonderful. You have conversations with them like you’ve known them forever. I make it a point to go once a year now and I look forward to stopping here every trip.Written March 31, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- L HSan Antonio, TX2,332 contributionsThis tasting room is located in Lincoln Square at the roundabout in the heart of activity. There is parking on the street but you have to watch carefully for cars entering and exiting this area.
We walked from our inn so didn’t have to worry about parking. We first visited in early afternoon and then returned later to sit outside and listen to the music.
Their Sangria was definitely refreshing on a muggy summer eve and priced just under $6. A glass of Merlot was under $7 and very good as well.
It has a very small patio area in front by the roundabout with four small outdoor metal tables and chairs.
On the evening we were there, there was a couple performing on acoustic guitars so pleasant to sit and listen and sip wine. But it was hot in late June.
They also have seating inside and can accommodate different groupos.Written November 5, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Richard GChatham, NY3 contributionsHighly recommend Hickory Hollow for your battlefield horse tour. Staff were helpful and always looking at for your safety, horses were easy to ride and comfortable and the guide extremely knowledgeable and informative.Written May 14, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- tulasgrannySavannah, GA1 contributionThe training prepared us well for the areas we experienced. Town roads or battlefield roads we knew what to expect. Our trainer Bob was helpful and our guide, Al, kept us safe and enjoying the trip. Definitely a worthwhile trip.Written May 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Cassandra M.Pawleys Island, SC29 contributionsWe had such an amazing time at the Victorian Photo Studio! Kim was so sweet, and so attentive to detail. She made sure we looked great in our portraits, and that we went home with a very special keepsake of our wonderful time in Gettysburg! She also provided a tons of great historical information about 19th century photography. HIGHLY recommend this experience for all ages!Written April 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- mlaFrederick_MDFrederick, MD10 contributionsWhat fun! I'd never done an escape room before, so I can't compare it to others, but my friends and I really enjoyed this. There was no "escape" - rather we had to find a missing will. Alas, we didn't find it in the time allotted, but came close (and we were told that the room we chose, the Spirited Study, was the most challenging). The themes were based in the Civil War era which provided atmosphere, but no knowledge of history was needed.
A little pricey, but we were happy to pay a little extra in order to not be put with another group (a procedure they instituted during Covid - that's at least one good thing that came of it!). There were three of us; I wouldn't recommend a group larger than 5, or you'll be bumping into each other.
The man on duty was polite and helpful (providing clues if needed). I hope to go back sometime with my family. 1863 Escape and a meal out (we went to the Dobbin House Tavern) made a wonderful afternoon.Written May 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Joe D3 contributionsTour guide was extremely knowledgeable. - Lisa C1 contributionOur group of three had an amazing experience with the National Riding Stables. From the ease of reserving a time slot, to check-in, learning the history of each rescued horse and the personality type of the horse one will be riding, everything was top-notch. They have a guide who walks the tour alongside of the riders, offering assistance if needed, providing additional historic tidbits, sharing horse etiquette, and great conversation. Terry shared great battlefield stories and was able to answer every question asked. The tender, loving care they show the horses is clearly obvious and they are spot-on with the personality types of each horse! I would HIGHLY recommend booking a tour with National Riding Stables. Wonderful on all levels.Written May 2, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Kaitlin NMount Laurel, NJ2 contributionsMy mom and I visited Gettysburg for the first time this weekend, March 19-20. We wanted to find a great ghost investigation experience and we were not disappointed whatsoever. We had activity at each location we went to. One of the spirits even said my moms name, without any of us saying it out loud, on the ovilus device. Our tour guide was great, she was very knowledgeable about each location and the town itself as well. We would definitely come back and do this again!Written March 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Joanne G1 contributionWe had Jerry as our tour guide twice and cannot say enough wonderful things about him. Jerry is very knowledgeable about Gettysburg history and his storytelling is entertaining as well as informative. The town walking tour is accessible for all ages and is not physically demanding. We highly recommended taking a tour.Written May 22, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Michelle1 contributionTaking a Ghost walk tour was on the bottom of my to do list while visiting Gettysburg. However last night they talked me into it and I am so glad they did. It was just enough spookiness to not freak me out and the history part was very interesting. Had a great time! Thank you Ghost walk tours of Gettysburg!Written May 11, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Chuck and Dawn4 contributionsWe took the Yankee Spirits Walking Tour with Mike. He is a great storyteller, even does an accurate elderly lady voice. MIKE PROVIDED A FIVE STAR experience, the reason for the four star rating is partly because the tour company doesn't seem to have a minimum age for children on the tour and partly because the gift shop staff members were indifferent. We had an eight-year-old and an eleven-year-old with us and they enjoyed themselves. However a couple with two much younger children were on the tour and the toddler had to be taken out of the basement by a parent because he was screaming nonstop. Speaking as a mother of five and grandmother of three, sitting quietly through a situation like that is too much to expect of a toddler so I'm certainly not blaming the child. If Sleepy Hollow had a minimum age limit and enforced it the tour wouldn't have been disrupted, Mike wouldn't have had to start to speak to the parents (just as he did the father picked up the toddler and walked out) and the parents wouldn't have been unhappy.
When we went into the gift shop there were three people behind the counter. Not one of them acknowledged me or my husband when we walked up to ask about an item in a case. Two of them literally looked at us, then looked away and went right back to their conversation. The other woman finished checking out the person ahead of us then got the item out of the case for us. Not once did either of the other two people behind the counter lift a finger to help or even greet anyone while we were in there. If they're not employees they shouldn't be behind the counter and and if they are employee, they shouldn't be!!
Those issues aside, purchasing the tickets online was fast and easy, check in was painless and the tour started right on time.Written November 9, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
