- debarilawNew York City, NY429 contributionsThis little park is surrounded by chic eateries and is walking distance from upscale shops. In a city that can get hectic, this area feels like an oasis.Written July 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - christopherbO9687MPActon, MA748 contributionsIndependence Mall is a nice urban oasis in heart of the city as setting for multiple historic museums. Inside the nearby visitor's center you can see how this stretch of Philadelphia was transformed from a jumble of 19th Century merchant's buildings to this open air lawn. This makes walking between those museums more pleasant.Written April 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TYsadventuresBrooklyn, NY980 contributionsUnimpressive given the Chinatown community at b home in NYC is larger and more diverse.
I guess the most disappointing for me was the gate, a small billboard looking thing sort of just dangling amongst the crowded skyline.
Overall this neighborhood is packed and characterized by eateries. Nothing else, no shrines , museums or anything just restaurants and take outs. It was certainly underwhelming given I was interested in eating.Written August 31, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Autumn MStamford, CT3,671 contributionsIt's a fun walk. There are plenty of places to stop and eat or shop. This street felt alive as we walked through. - Mark GCatonsville, MD3,494 contributionsThe Old City Arts District seems to be loosely but not confined the area from N. Front St to Vine and Market to 4th St. This lively area is loaded with museums, theatres, art galleries, studios and centers as well as bars and restaurants. It is an interesting mix of properties that is still evolving, with a subtle progress nicely incorporated into the old. Common Wealth is a nice restaurant stop on Market street while strolling the area.Written March 22, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MidwestKathMDetroit, MI1,127 contributionsAfter dinner at one of the area restaurants, we decided to stroll the main street Germantown Rd. It was already dark, yet this fall evening was temperate. Historically old houses and buildings line the street. Walking along, one comes across a variety of businesses, including professional services, restaurants, and small shops, including an art gallery, a cigar shop, an antiques store, a brewery and taproom, and several clothing boutiques. There is a quaint feel to the area.Written October 28, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
