This is a great place for a picnic, kayaking around the lake, letting the kids swim in the buoyed swim area, or just hiking around the huge park and enjoying the beauty of it all!
A great place to take the family for a camping weekend, to build life long memories - right on the ocean, next to Cranberry Lake and just down the road to Oak Harbor, Coupeville and the rest of beautiful Whidbey I...

A recent Girls' Getaway on Whidbey Island had to include a visit to Fort Casey, which houses my favorite lighthouse (Admiralty Head) and has been a playground for me and my kids for years.
Nice park lots to see, besides the fort itself with the disappearing guns and connecting tunnels which kids loved to explore. There is also a lighthouse which is worth a climb.Lots of grass area, worth a visit

Interesting beach pebbles, lovely trails for rambling, several families were enjoying the site when we were there.
It was too cold yesterday, so we simply sat in the car (with a WA State Parks pass visible), and watched the kites, kids, dogs and of course, other people, braving the chill and walking, running all over.

As it was a jet boat we moved at a pretty good speed but were spared the cute maneuvers that get everybody soaked for fun and are enjoyed mostly by little kids and simpletons.
Learn about an old mine, the bridge, strawberry island, and more in this fun, family friendly tour.
