What travelers are saying
- Quilt Shop ChauffeurSchertz, TX44 contributionsHave been several times and always wish I had more time. 4 large hangars full of aircraft and spacecraft throughout the history of flight. Easy to spend hours here. Great for kids, adults, veterans, people wanting to learn about aviation.Written August 14, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - E LoganBon Air, VA9 contributionsWe went to see the Wright Flyer - which gave goosebumps, really - so awesome that the real thing has been so well preserved. We got there late, so didn't have time to see other exhibits in the park, but wish we had. The park was walkable, accessible, beautifully landscaped - and all the exhibits looked intriguing. Definitely worth the price of admission!Written August 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Mark VNaples, FL2 contributionsThe museum tells the story of Packard’s rise and fall as a leading auto manufacturer. The unsung role of Packard trucks and its remarkable Merlin engine is also noted. The museum keeps getting better each time I visit. Well done!Written July 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Judy L3 contributionsWas not expecting this gem! This is a great place to bring your kids, you just have to experience it, too much here to mention. Did I mention it is reasonably priced.Written July 10, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- wanderlust44122Cleveland, OH62 contributionsThe Interpretive Center is a jewel. We had a volunteer take us over to the bicycle shop, which we enjoyed. This is definitely worth a visit.Written July 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- KathelaMercer, PA122 contributionsWe traveled four hours to Dayton see the two van Goghs on loan at the DAI: our first visit to Dayton. We did not have high expectations for the rest of the museum, but we were wrong. The museum has wonderful collections that are presented beautifully. We had limited time to spend and felt that we short-changed ourselves by not allowing ourselves more time. The museum is beautiful inside and out. Also worthy of mention: the museum staff were the friendliest of any that we've encountered. To a person, they were just the nicest people: professional but warm, as if we'd made their day by choosing to spend time there. The DAI and its people are gems!Written August 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- E LoganBon Air, VA9 contributionsThis is where we started "Aviation History Tour" on our trip, which was a good call because it set the tone for what we saw later at Carillion Park and Wright Patterson AFB (at the Nat'l Air Force Museum)! Definitely see the movie - it puts everything you see in context. Exhibits seem are a little cramped/dated, but all very interesting.Written August 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - A2coolcityFishers, IN962 contributionsIt was such a upbeat, refreshing and relaxing experience to visit the 2nd Street Farmers Market.
It was our first visit - so we had no idea what to expect. There are a variety of dining, shopping and baked good options.
Everyone was friendly, encouraging and welcoming. The prices were affordable and fair.
We thoroughly enjoyed COOKIES from CABIN FEVER CONFECTIONS shop and the excellent service and delicious delicacies she offered. She has GLUTEN FREE and VEGAN offerings as well.
We also enjoyed the the CREPE BOHEME with a variety of super yummy options.
Make this a stop on your next visit to the area. You’ll be glad you did!Written July 10, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is good for a scenic drive to look at the headstones or a walk to take in the air and nature. There is a marker indicating where the Wright Brothers are buried.Written May 23, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gary UTampa, FL28 contributionsThe Oregon District has a distinct 'old village' flavor. A wonderfully diverse and interesting neighborhood. The eclectic nature of each shop is unique and unforgettable. Don't be surprised if you are embarrassed by some of the displays. - Teardrop Trailer TravelerUnited States712 contributionsHuffman Prairie is one of those sites that is significant not because of what is there, but because of what happened there. This large, empty field is the world's first airport!
The visitor center was closed on the day of my visit, but the field itself was accessible. There are information plaques placed around a walking loop, which allows for a self-guided tour. The site also has a replica hangar as well as the rail from which the earlier Flyers were launch.
The location is adjacent to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and the base's long runway is visible. This gives a cool compression of the large modern airfield to the small first-every airfield.Written July 30, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. When the weather allows it seems there is food stands and kayaks to rent. We were there in not great weather but I am sure this would be a great place to kayak. It is a great place to walk and get away from traffic and noise of the city no matter the weather.Written July 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
